Well I hope we all have heard of this "concept" as I hadn't until after my first time visiting Jamaica but it is apparently quite common. Its basically the real like story to JA English Romeo story. This video is apparently old cause as I was watching I was SHOCKED to hear the voice of a German woman who once they showed her face I was like :o I know her!!!!! She is a good friend to my husband and his family and came to our wedding, and I know her son and they live in Jamaica still and she is on this video talking about the reason women like to "rent a dread". I cannot wait to tell my husband he is gonna DIE!!!

OMG....I can only imagine my husband sucking teeth when that guy on the beach showed himself in that yellow thong thing and whatever the animal print thing was.

Funny about the German woman too.

How many of the SO's have dreads?

So far I'm on the electricity bill, the water bill and the gas bill, name is on the tenancy agreement, have a baby's birth certificate to show them :), joint bank accounts, receipts for our couches, bedroom set and we're about to take out a car finance agreement in both names...Also on his insurance....

Seems more than enough!!

One quick thing, we have changed addresses since the K1, do we have to send them notification?

If so, to whom?

You did not need all that stuff for AOS on the K-1. I'm thinking you are just applying for the conditional green card. All this stuff we are discussing is to remove conditions for the 10-year green card.

Also, don't forget your marriage certificate.

You won't the evidence for the for the initial AOS package. But you WILL need evidence if you have an AOS interview.

I was appalled by both videos. I am not in favor of homosexuality...however, I much rather the man be openly accepted than have him forced into DL activities to try and be accepted. The behavior (I say behavior because I don't believe they are born gay) is not going anywhere, and they should not have to fear for their lives. It becomes dangerous to everyone when they are forced to hide those tendencies and they marry a woman to met society's standards. Then, you have married women giving birth to babies with HIV/AIDS.

The Rentadread video was hilarious to me. I didn't see anything the least bit attractive about any of the guys, and most of them still had Similac or sweet milk on their breath. Rentadreads are not just Jamaican men with dreads. I thought the guy in the stripper thong was disgusting...his dreads looked like a sew in...and his physique was less than appealing. Women need to be careful...whether they are gigolos, rentas...or opportunists.

BTW...Congrats to Ms Squitto and Tricia B on your pregnancies. Way to go on filing Marlita!!!! Best wishes and God's favor.

Same with my husband.....never had dreads. And, some of the women on here are talking about hair braiding, so I know those are no.

OMG.........I have a hair story to tell you..........

Andre has been growing out his hair a bit lately. And, in between brushings for work, he was locking it a bit by twisting it between his fingers. Saturday, after I had worked all day, came home to have a drink and buzzing a little, he decides I need to take the electric razor and straighten up the lines around his face. I strongly argued against it; but in the end, I decided to try. Well, of course, I cut 2 curls off accidently on the one side and one on another. He threw a fit and ended up shaving it all off (after he made us laugh by shaving off just parts at a time). I told him it was his fault cause he got me all chilled out and then made me cut his hair. I don't think he will do that again.

Anyone on here get "Jamaica Eats" magazine? If not, you should check it out. The subscription mailing is in true Jamaican style.....it takes it's good time getting to you sometimes. I always say thank God I only expect it 4 times a year or it would make me crazy. It is always worth it when it does come.

And, I even won a contest in it a few issues back.
