Hey LAdies:

This is my first time posting here. I am Canada and hubby came form Jamaica in July. We are not seeing eye to eye on certain things. We are constantly arguing and every time we get into an argument he says he wants to go home. We have a child together 10 mts and we both have another from another relationship. I know this is really hard fro my 9 yr old cuz we argue in front of her also. I love him dearly and I know he loves me too but we argur too much!

Ps what sort of romantic things u have done for u hubby when u kiss and makeup.

Hey Sophie. I was trying to figure out who knew my gov'ment name outside of VJ.

I'm not sure how immigrations works in Canada but is your hubby working? Or is he able to work?

The first year is the hardest...trust me. Things will get better.

Like Gill suggested take some alone time with hubby....go out to dinner, movies or something free if money is an issue....outside of the house. Damien and I go on "dates" every weekend so we can have some quality time together. Of course, I make sure I get enough quality time with my daughter also.

The first year was hard for us too, it was definitely an adjustment stage. We didn't have much time to go out together because I was in school full time and working full time, so I know he felt left out. I tried to do little things to show him I cared - left notes on the pillow, random emails every now and then, leaving work early (when I could) and getting takeout to surprise him for lunch/ early dinner, etc. - but the main thing was prayer. Without the Lord he would have left a long time ago (or one of us would have killed the other ). Just remember that the adjustment takes time and a lot of patience. Remind each other of why you fell in love, and try to picture your life without him.

You see it every once in a while, hear about it all the time. But, I personally don't think it's any worse then anywhere else. I was in downtown Washington, D.C. and Chicago in the past year and both of them scared me much more then St. Louis ever has.
