He mentioned them but the deal is they are in Scotland and were born in the UK so i guess this application wont cover them i wasnt thinking clearly.

So im guessing they can pretty much visit on passport from Scotland?? and would have to get a visa to stay move here. He has not mention it yet to their mom. It would be nice for them to come :)

You know what Rhonda, I'm done trying to explain what actually goes on in this country to you, you can sit in your little ivory castle and stick your head in the sand if you would like. We Black mothers, unfortunately do not have that luxury. So, no Rhonda the 'Racial Issues', as you put them will not go away! Because anytime we see inequality, injustice or unfairness towards our own, especially our children, we WILL continue to call lawmakers, legislators, and politicans on it!

You are no longer worth the effort or my VALUABLE time to sit down and respond to your obilivious statements. I can't help someone understand, when they aren't open-minded enough to listen and hear what the other side is saying. Like my Mom used to say Rhonda..."Those who don't hear...mus' feel!" One day...One day, you will know!

Nuf said...It's is Friday... and Rhonda you will not steal my joy today!!! :D:D So you have a GREAT Weekend, Rhonda!

You need to get a life! I've been a member of VJ for over 3 1/2 years now. I was one of the original people who STARTED the Yardie thread. I have NEVER, EVER had an issue with ANY member on here for any reason before. YOU took my opinion and turned it around and twisted it up to make ME out to be some racial, prejudiced, WHITE power obsessed witch just because you are too stupid to understand MY viewpoint!!! I will not sit here and listen to you bashing me and pretending to know WHO I am and WHERE I come from and HOW I grew up.

What YOU don't realize is that YOUR Jamaican is going to come here and think YOU are racist for feeling the way YOU do. Jamaicans don't have the "chip" that Americans do....YOU are the one who is in for a rude awakening!!!

You've GOT to be kidding me!!!!

This forum was started for US to have a place to help each other -- not BASH each other every chance we get.

What is wrong with someone having an opinion? That's just fine if you don't agree with it but do we have to get so nasty?

I have been around (and been a party to) plenty of prejudice in my life. It is what it is. Yeah, it's a shame that in this day and age things like this still go on -- I am sorry for that. I really am. But I don't go around making it worse. Whatever......

Thank you Mindy :luv: It seems SOME people on here don't know what this thread is really all about.

So, maybe some people should give up VJ if they cannot take comments, questions or reactions to statements that are made.

Yeah, some people like Deyoungting and Jamerican...... who can't hear someone elses opinion without bashing them JUST because they don't agree with it themselves.

With a comment such as this "It was and still is MY opinion that everything involving BLACK people gets turned into a "racial" issue - whether it is or not", I hope that you can understand why many people on here have had some reservations about your comment. When you made your inital comment about Jena 6, I understood it as you are tired of it being aired on CNN, which is something that I can totally understand. After watching CNN for awhile anyone can get sick and tired of them reviewing the same topic. Yes, there are some people who pull the race card on every incident involving a black person and white person but if you lived as an African American and have been shiested out of promotional opportunites in the corporate/private sector, stopped by the police 3-4 times in 6 months for driving a certain vehicle, and ousted out of ample educational opportunites, you would indeed see why some people just cannot let the racial issue go.

Well, I personally have been shiested out of promotional opportunities numerous times just because I'm FEMALE in a male dominated work environment. So don't tell me I have to live as an African American to understand prejudice. And don't even get me started on educational opportunities. When I was applying to colleges, Affirmative Action was still going strong and I was denied an academic scholarship when I had better grades and a higher grade point average and higher ACT scores than the BLACK person who did get the scholarship - just because he/she was a MINORITY! So I worked my butt off only to be "shiested" out of an opportunity by someone else just because they were BLACK. Now, you wanna talk about REVERSE discrimination??

Ya know Mindy.....I TOTALLY miss the good ole days when we used to laugh, joke, support, be caring, etc etc and not have ANY of this BS drama on here !!!!! Where the heck are all of our "veterans"????!!!

I agree Kelly. Most of the Veterans left because of the way SOME of the Newbies on here started BASHING everyone. Jamie, Jax, Dee, Kim, .... the list goes on and on.

You just don't get it and honestly I don't think you have the ability to GET IT. People of color don't have the ability to hide what would cause them to be treated unfairly because the moment we appear we are prejudged simply based on the color of our skin. If irratates the FU** out of me when gay people try and compare thier struggles or injustices to those of people of color...most of those you mentioned (religion, age, sexual orientation) are all thing that no one has to even know about thus if people are being discriminated it has come from thier wanting to put it out there for folks.... If personal business is kept "personal" how in the hell can a person be treated bad??? Like comparing apples to oranges. Rhonda...what you don't seem to understand (and also other VJ boardies who had problems with our reaction) was that we hope to enlighten your narrowed perspective in hopes that you may learn from those who actually LIVE it and learn from our feelings and or experiences. Honesly, I don't give a rats azz if you GET IT...but only hope that you have some sort of compassion because of the children....BLACK CHILDREN you may be raising and the worst thing a child can come home to is a parent that won't even empathize but instead makes excuses...which is exactly what you did in regards to this situation. You have entered into a much deeper relationship than just you and your Jamaican husband.... If you can't understand that .... I feel sorry for your children. I come from interracial parents so I can speak from experience from both angles... There is nothing worse than to go to a white parent who makes excuses for injustices..(saying this 2x because of the need to make a point) making statements like yours that it isn't always a race issue. No one expects you to understand but at least when people who have experience in the issues try to inlighten you it is pure ignorance to shoot them down.

Don't insult me with YOUR ignorance. Become a true American and stop complaining about every injustice that you think is in your way. YOU are in your own way. YOUR PEOPLE are in your own way. Change that then get back to me.

I gotta say, there's a WHOLE underground, unspoken world that Black people from ALL OVER THE WORLD share. Only WE share it so other races and cultures don't get it. Blacks meet from the US, UK, Africa, Caribbean, and they all have someting in common. The way they have been treated throughout the history of this world. They all have heard horrible tear causing stories from their granparents, and even their own children. The all know whats its like to be a ethnic minority, even when they live in a country or continent where they are the majority. When we don't live in areas where there are many of us we gravitate to one another, giving each other an unspoken look, or head nod just to show, we acknowledge each others Blackness. When we are around each other we embrace our Blackness and our culture much more than we do when we are around others. WE wear our hair differently, we dress differently, we talk about differnet things. We have converstaions and speech patterns we would never share with other races no matter how down we think they are. When we do it fuels debates like the one on here cause others just don't understand.

How is it that you can make a statement like this, but if I said something similar that we did that to acknowledge our brothers & sisters WHITENESS, then I would be labeled a RACIST???

I'm going to stay away from this thread for a bit. Until Deyoungting and Jamerican can learn that "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" and STOP bashing people who have different opinions from their own. I will be chilling in my "Little Ivory Castle" with my BLACK husband while my BI-RACIAL baby continues to kick soccer balls around in my belly ;)

make ME out to be some racial, prejudiced, WHITE power obsessed witch ..... You called it not I! You are the one who twisted everything all out of proportion... How dare you say - "if you don't have anything nice to say.......don't say anything at all"!! It was your insulting coment disguised as your "opinions" that got all of this going in the first place. YES I SAID INSULTING...you were the one who made the insensitive coments about the racial incidents of Jena 6 and then went on to elaborate inferring that black people are to sensitive. I only then went to give you some advise speaking from experience on how you should rethink your reaction to race relations now that you plan on bringing a black child into this world. I forgot though because you beleive that your experience as a white woman in the US gives you all the knowledge you need in dealing with injustice in society. Forgive me for trying to be of assistance to you in your Journey into raising a black child and how to empathise instead of constantly making excuses..... BUT YOU KNOW EVERYTHING.....Whatever!!!!
