Before I make a comment why exactly r u tired of Rhonda ?

Girl, come from under your rock!!! lol...It is/was on every local and national news/talk station. Even up here in Portland Or. there was a demonstration to show support. Here is one of many news articles that may shed a lilttle light on the topic/event.

Yeah, after I posted this, I realized what it was all about. I just didn't realize they were referring to it as "Jena 6". Actually, I'm tired of hearing about it already. The only channel we get at work is CNN and it's on over and over again.

VISA RECEIVED!!!!! Finally!! My baby will be here tonight!! Am I dreaming????

That's awesome! Congrats

Lets hope that she is tired of peoples ignorance in regards to race, injustice and racial issues.

I think she's tired of it being played over and over and over again on CNN == she did say that's the only station she can get at work.

That's how I took it too.

Hey Ladies,

I have been away for forever it seems. So much good news!! woo hoo!!

I have some news of my own.

Well, I just got married in June this past summer and I stayed in Jamaica all of June and all of July (I am a teacher..summers off). I have been twice since then. We have attempted to file VISA papers several times (long story) and ultimately we have prayed about it and decided at the end of this school year I AM MOVING TO JAMAICA! Its a big decision but one that will be awesome for us I think. Now..what about jobs?

egh..

We are going to open a restuarant but maybe I should still take a job to begin with? I am torn b/c that means I am taking a job from a Jamaican, but that also means I will be spending that same money in Jamaica..so doesnt that balance out? (trying to make myself feel less guilty...haha)

ANY ADVICE?!?!?!?!

THANKS!!!!

I LOVE MY HUSBAND!!!!!!!!!!!

Good for you Shrewdgal! You sound just like me! I am thinking of moving also. So I have lots of info if you need help. PM if you wanna talk. Maybe we can IM each other.

I think its a rare situation when the USC moves to JA, but it happens. You just have to make it a smart move, and always have a game plan for when you are there, and for when you may decided to move back to the US.

Congrats!!! What part of Jamaica are you interested in working...setting up a restaurant in? I may be able to link you up via email to a woman who did the same thing as you are contemplating doing. She runs a very successful restaurant in Negril...Selina's. She may be helpful in pointing out some of the issues she had to and currently has to deal with.

I went to visit my husband last week and got his police certificate. There is a line under his name for his signature but it's not signed. Should this be signed before sending to NVC?

I believe it should be signed. Hubby signed his before we sent it to NVC.

Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!! :D

Question????? Please help.

Do pre-existing medical conditions follow from Jamaica to the US? A's daughter is currently hospitalized and may have a heart condition. We want to bring her here...but I'm afraid that she will not be able to be covered under my medical coverage if they find out she already had the heart condition. Do you have any idea on whether the medical exam in Kingston for the visa will include this info?

Never heard of it being included, even if it WERE, there is no way the insurance company could find out from the USCIS.
