:ot: Did you guys know this???

1 US Dollar (USD) = 70.20000 Jamaican Dollar (JMD)

WOW...I must have been sleepin cause the last I checked it was $66-$1

Yea and depending on where you go you can get more or less.

WOW, last time I checked it was $68JA. - $1US. That's a damn shame...I remember when the rate was $5JA to $1US. I guess JA. is one of the few places in the world wear the dollar is still strong!

Dang! That means the UK is getting somewhere close to 141 to 1 JMD. WOW!!!! When I was there in July...I got 67 to 1. I need some British pounds before I go back...LOL. :help::blush:

Yuh dyam right Jawi...I say the same thing everytime!

I forgot to mention/ask advice about this.

The Miami POE kept the whole packet that Marlon presented to them. Any chance that we may get it back? It's not a big deal as Marlon has an extra copy of his BC. I know that we have to submit the certified copy of our marriage license for AOS and I only paid for one, it was $18.50. The lady at the court advised me to use it first to change my name and for my SS card and passport name change before we send it for AOS. Does that sound about right?

Also Kelly (Luvtrav) Marlon will be emailing you if he hasn't done so already in order for his dad and step mom to book some tickets through you for Jamaica.

nope sorry once they have it they have it.....

i got 3 copies of the marriage cert. one just for aos and the others for the SS and passport and just whoever else needed to see a copy....

yes change all of those things first....passport will take some time...but if you are not in a rush for the AOS then change the passport while you are at it....

OFF TOPIC! (I don't know where to find the little smiley holding the sign that says it!)

I AM SOOOO MAD WITH MYSELF!! I completely forgot to wear all black today for the Jena 6! However, alot of the college students here did! Plus, they seem to have a really good turn out down in Jena, LA. I hope it helps to change that crazy judicial system!

Gill

Has anyone else seen a big number of people wearing all black in your areas of the country?

Haven't seen much on my side of the country. I wore all black but at work I had on a red jacket and at the airport I am wearing all black.

Ok all, the flight is going to be boarding now. Thanks to all for the well wishes; BIG UP to the Yardie family. Lata. Soon come :dance:

Ja Tam all the best on your interview tomorrow!

Good luck Sarah with trying to find someone who will braid cheap  Maybe Marlon will be like my hubby and after 2 months of not liking 3 different hair dressers in town he shaved it all off.

First thing Andre did was buy this piece of junk stereo at a yard sale so he could rig it with all kinds of speakers and blow out our house. Beware...........................

I have a Bose surround sound system at home, and I swear I thought Tony was going to blow out my speakers  He's constantly turning it up and I'm constantly turning it back down

Thank you for all your wonderful support and words of encouragement. I still feel so empty and lonely. Every time I talk to A...I just want to ball up and cry. I miss seeing his smile...I miss him absentmindedly stroking my legs while we watch a movie...I miss him attempting to "canerow" my hair...I miss standing in front of him with his arm draped around me to pull me closer...while our favorite music is played at Priory Beach. DAMNITTHISSHITISHARD! :crying::crying::crying::(:(

A few things that helped me while I was waiting: I had lots of pics of Tony around the house and in my purse so I could look at them whenever I missed him. I saved a few of his voicemails and I would replay them when I wanted to hear his voice. He gave me one of his shirts and I would sleep in it or with it to feel closer to him. We also talked to each other every day, usually 3 or 4 times a day even if only for a few minutes. You can also try doing things around your house to prepare for his arrival - make some room in the closets or dresser, buy him a toothbrush, razor, shaving cream, etc.. pick up some Jamaican food items for him.....

And of course, come on VJ and vent to all of us!!

Okay, I've realized that I'm not going to be able to get through the 200 pages that I missed, so I may as well jump in here.

FutureMrs, I see that Marlon is here, that's great, I hope things are going well for you two. kkholiday, same for you. I know I've missed so many interviews and visas, green cards and other things, but congratulations to everyone on your forward progress.

We'll soon be looking to file AOS (when we have the money) but we also want to bring hubby's two children over. Someone mentioned that you should not file AOS first, because it invalidates the K1, leaving no K2. I don't even know how to start the K2 process, the guide is a little confusing.
