Everyone I know says the program is all that and a bag of chips

Roy STILL  thinks it a great thing -- even though he has been here for over a year and sees how much things cost. He STILL believes the "tales" he was told about the "program" -- give me a break......that's exactly what I want to do to him sometimes -- break a frickin' bottle over his head in hopes of getting him to snap out of it.

You know, the more I talk to you, the more I see a lot of similarities. We should probably not get together when one of us is every in one of those angry moods. Or if we ever do, the men should probably stay home!

did I say I did ? do u ever think why someone of these ppl go the illegal route..they make it almost impossible for anyone to get a visa. Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with braking laws and going against rules, but if they grant a couple extra work visas so ppl can get out of the country and provide better for their families then maybe fraud wouldn't be so high. If u look at it alot of ppl who leave JA is to come make money that in JA u have to work a whole year and go back home to better than what they had. That's all I'm saying. they lock up plenty of people in this country everyday for having weed on them do they get a blood test to see if they're using? They get fined depending on the quantity and released back into society, are they still going to USE ILLEGAL drugs ?

Fi real Aliengirl..dem a seh arite u waan come inna wi country (the bed of roses0 we ago mek u pay out u ####### and them mek u beg..out a order

Well, do you really expect the Embassy to let anyone and everyone have a visa? I don't blame them one bit. If someone tests positive for drug use, it's safe to assume they're going to continue to use drugs when they come to the U.S. - which is ILLEGAL! So why would they let them have a visa?

Can I ask you guys something about the work visas? Does anyone know anything about them?

Reason I ask.....we have some friends who have come to the US on those work programs. They are forever calling and saying they are hungry and need us to send them some cash. How do they pay these people? Do you guys know if housing is charged against salary? And, what kind of preparation is needed on the part of the applicants?.....I mean, like cash reserves or something? It just seems to me, the people we know are ill prepared to come on these programs.

Anyone know anything about these?

Only thing i know is that my fiances ex has one of those they sent her to florida i think she works in a hotel but works more hours than we normally do and she gets paid nine dollars an hour

hAHAHA..I bet u do..so than can STOP callin ur darn PHONE  ..ahahhaaaa

You hit the nail on the head. Solved the problem by not answering the phone anymore. On Sunday, after a particularly frustrating day, I told him if one person called and asked for money yesterday, I was going to take the (insert favorite cuss word) phone and drive over it with my car!!!!!

Yuh a turn Bad gyal now, Jomo?...you are too dyam funny!:lol::lol: But I hear you! I already had that conversation with Ken too! "You and I shall not be working fi support the whole of your brethen dem!" He understood that much! I got..."Yuh MAD!!!" from him, but we'll see.

I really read this thread and try to explain stuff that may become an issue from now...in the hopes that we can lessen some of the problems when 'im reach! Like Bob says..."Time will tell" :)

Fi real!!! Last night our topic of conversation was poor Empress' issue!! He doesn't really smoke...but I wanted to reiterate...just in case! Again...I got..."Ooman,yuh Mad a who? Nuh suh, mi sorry fi deh Sistren, she deserve better than dat. But dat nuh guh reach we!!! I need fi inna deh States wid mi wife & family!!"

I am just so grateful that people here share the good as well as the bad...so others can learn from them!

I used this same topic when Andre was in Jamaica....it was Jilly....um Christine James who I used as an example. I actually told him if he did that to me, I would fly down there and kill him....I didn't work this hard to get him that far to be turned away for that reason. I meant it too!

Which is why I like to see the good, the bad, and the ugly on here. We can all learn something from everyone.

I never even thought of that part of the issue until Andre ran screaming out the room one night when we were on the phone. Turns out his friends lit up around him. Glad he had more common sense there then I did to think of it.
