Thanks for all of your concern ladies  but I am sure he made the best choice by being honest. I feel like yall are just bringing more doubt on our already dubious situation instead of trying to be uplifting. What's up with that?

Hey Empress, as Kimmy said "It is all in God's hands". I also believe it is better for him to have been honest than later on it is revealed. I don't think the ladies were trying to be negative - forewarning you on what has happened in the past. As they say to be forewarned is to be fore-armed. I believe every situation is different so let us wait and see the outcome when you get back from the interview.

Pure positive vibes for the interview

I wish you no ill-will and only the best of luck!! I was just trying to "connect" you with someone who also "admitted" since <I believe> it was before you came on the "Yardies Thread" and you might not have been aware of that particular situation -- sorry if you think I was being a downer. Exactly.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

well whatever. The fact that the medical is done and gone should be enough to avoid talking about "hope you didn't make a MISTAKE" rolleye0010.gif That kind of talk only makes people doubt themselves. And talking to Belly's Girl can't help after the fact anyway.

If you don't see how that would throw someone off then fine. And if you really meant to be helpful, thank you. ( I guess you wouldn't know I've read just about every yardie thread/ and thread about ganja on VJ)

thanks to the other well wishers also love0047.gif

Like Kimmy said it's all in God's hands now. We just have to wait and see.

My co-worker was a consular officer in Kingston and she said it's worse to admit to smoking than testing positive...I have no idea why but we all know how the Embassy operates. And I know two other people with the same denial. The consular officer can give up to a 10 year ban...most issue 3 year bans though.

BUT your fiance will be fine if he admitted to smoking 7 years ago. My husband was honest during his interview and admitted to 3 years prior and had no problems with his medical....Thank God 3 year is the cut off or his big head would not be here now

We're here for support...please don't think otherwise (F)

Sarah hate to be the bad news person....but even thought they may say a couple of days it can take weeks or months to get...they told mike a week...it took more like 2 weeks to get...so i would just hold tight and and he will get it....and talking to airpak....waste of time....

Please keep in mind that the Embassy do not get fingerprints until the interview. The consular officer have to run the fingerprints into a national database. That's why some visas take faster than others.

Sarah - hopefully yours will come come

My husband lives in Port Antonio (2 hours from Kingston). He still has no power nor water. His house sustained minimal damage. Since the Embassy was closed on Monday and Tuesday of this week, I hope that we will not have to wait much longer for an interview. Plus, Monday, August 27th is Election Day. The folks with August 27th interviews were postponed until Thursday, September 20th. I e-mailed the Embassy two weeks ago, and was told that my husband's interview would be in October at the earliest. Our 1st wedding anniversary is on October 20th. That would be the greatest gift- to have him home.

This info has changed. Election Day is now on 9/3. I wonder if the interviews set for 8/27 will continue. My sister-in-law had an appt for her visitor's visa.

I think everyone here is extremely supportive.

But the thing is not to loose sight of the fact that this is also an important resource for hundreds of people agonizing over what is the best choice to make.

Nothing anyone says here can affect the outcome of your personal case, but people reading where you may have gone wrong is an invaluable resource to them.

This is most definitely a place to come to and receive support, but if someone does something that may not be the wisest move, I think others should be able to point that out for the benefit of everyone else.

Doesn't mean they are being mean, spiteful or not being supportive, all it does is show that they are being objective about the situation.

It has often been said here to NEVER EVER admit drug taking.

To admit is YOUR CALL, for you it might very be the best choice.

But for someone wondering whether to admit it who is reading the thread, the general consensus is NEVER admit it.

So for everyone to come along and say 'Oh you'll be fine, don't worry' is a double-edged sword, yes you feel happy and supported, but what about other people who might very see what you decided to do and thought 'oh she did the right thing, let me do the same'.

I've never heard of anyone having to do the hair test either. Andre had to do the blood test. He never admitted to ever smoking. I pray that wasn't a mistake that Mr. Man admitted it, even so long ago. Something about this sounds familiar to Belly Girl's story.

I was thinking the same thing. Her fiance test came back negative but b/c he admitted to it in the past he was still denied. I surely hope everything works out.
