On a lighter note! Melvin received his medical in Mobay and was told that the embassy would receive his results via mail. So hopefully things well will work out and the embassy will receive it on time. He said they did not use the sealed envelope technique with him  But thats okay. Thanks for your words of encouragement anyways.

Mr. Man did his medical today also but I forgot to ask him if they gave him the results. lol

Anyhoo because of an issue that prolly will come up at the interview (didn't want to risk lying) he checked yes to ever using drugs  so the doctor gave him a marijuana urine test NOT BLOOD. The doctor asked him when he used it and he told him that it was when he was a teenager and he was experimenting  . I'm confident he'll pass since he passed the blood test couple weeks ago. He believes the doctor would not have tested him if he didn't admit to using it in the past (on the medical sheet). The doctor also told him the blood test was only for HIV and I think TB.

So my advice, as others have said, is NEVER admit to using it unless you have some other reason to. And if for some reason you want to admit it, at least lie that it was over 3 years ago because they WILL ban you. And don't tek the urine weed test as gospel many people have been given blood and/or hair tests

I'll get back to you about whether they gave him the results or not.

I so hope it all works out well for you!

Anyone up late nights and have yahoo messenger?

Where did he go to take his medical exam? I ask because my SO said that he was talking to someone today in the office who is going for an interview at the embassy on the 4th of Sept. I thought of your SO Empress but then he was saying that the guy was from St. Ann and I wasn't sure if it was your SO or not. That would be interesting right. lol.

LOLOLOL

My so went to Mobay so I don't know who the heck he was talking to  But, he did go thinking that he had all the shots from another clinic but then they told him that he needed 1 degga degga shot...(MMR2) so he received that and paid an additional 1500JA on top of the $6000JA. We were trying to get everything completed before he went but to be honest, he really didn't save much money going elsewhere. It cost about the same thing.

I've never heard of anyone having to do the hair test either. Andre had to do the blood test. He never admitted to ever smoking. I pray that wasn't a mistake that Mr. Man admitted it, even so long ago. Something about this sounds familiar to Belly Girl's story.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Yeah, it was Belly's Girl -- he admitted to smoking -- I believe he said it was a long time ago AND his test came back clean but he still got denied and put on the "three year hold"......Empress, I hope this wasn't a big mistake......you might want to talk to Belly's Girl.....

[/color]Hi all...well, I just want to start out saying that I thank each and every one of you for the help that you have provided along the way for our K-1 journey. As you may know, our interview was on Thursday, and despite our best efforts, the visa was denied--due to his admitted marijuana use from about 2 1/2 years ago...You know, a couple of weeks before the medical I said to him, if they ask you about drugs just say that you've never used them...it seemed fine then...he was like "cool"...but on the day of the medical he said that the doctor kept asking him had he used drugs in the past 3 years, and INSISTED to him that they would test to make sure....now, because I live here, and I guess I just know that weed can't be traced back any further than 30 days or so, I never really thought that that would be an issue...I just assumed that people pretty much knew that, but I guess not...unfortunately, he told them the truth because he was fearful that they would somehow find out and would deny him the visa...and for his honesty we have paid the price....I have never seen a man cry so much before in my life...and I have truly never felt more broken spirited and hopeless...I don't know where to go from here because I just knew that everything was going to work out according to plan...this has been the most devastating experience of my life....I wish everyone up here luck, and please please please heed the medical warnings---THESE PEOPLE ARE SO CANNIVING AND SNEAKY!! This was a hard lesson learned...I'm not sure what other options are available to us...we've talked, and we do both agree wholeheartedly that being together is what matters the most in the world to us...its just knowing what to do next (if there's anything we CAN do) that is the problem...like I said before, thank you for your well wishes!! I will definitely continue to post here and be of any help if I can...the actual interview experience-NO PROBLEM! Everyone have a wonderful evening and a good day at work tomorrow!!

He made the best choice given the circumstance. The probability of it coming up at the interview is high and it's best not to lie especially if they have some proof. The admitted use was over 7 years ago

I heard this from one of my Jamaican friends that they did this a long looong time ago, didn't think (or ever hear) of them doing this now.

Gosh Empress...... I truly hope that you have a nice interviewer. I know a TON of people that smoke and "lie" and came clean and have gotten through, but I haven't heard of anyone "admitting" and getting through.

Didn't Jilly Bean go through the same stuff ?? and he was denied.

OK.....KK & mydestiny...........where the heck are you 2 ?? If it's bad news (which we ALL are hoping that it is not), please please post and let us know. Your post may be able to help another VJr going through this process.

We, that haven't heard from you guys are worried. If it's good news............??? Why oh why haven't you guys said anything to us?? We are all here for you guys...... good, bad, ugly or indifferent !!!
