I love this site. I learn something new all the time. I had no clue I could add credits to my spouse phone. Since he has the megaphone and a work cell phone alot of time he will let the credits on his personal phone go to zero saying I am "too busy to worry with it". In most case it does not matter since he calls me on the megaphone and I can still call him on his cell. With this storm and the power being shut off in a couple of hour; no one knows how the megapone will perform. I do know on the best day the charge only last 40-50 minutes without being recharged. I had added $20 USD to his Digacel #.

i just need to stop watching the weather channel.......but i just cant! I just keep thinking about Melvin and his hard headed father who stayed in the country. I don't think that I will be sleeping tonight.

Michele I'm glad you like Philly. I should be attending the Caribbean Festival tomorrow at Penns Landing if I can focus through this storm

you are going to be there too?? i plan on being there around 11 i know it starts at 12 but i want to get a good parking spot...we might go on the river taxi to the aquarium or go to the seaport museum before the carnival starts.. we should meet up....you won't miss mike i am sure he will be the tallest person there...he is almost 7 feet...

Yes that sounds good Jenice. We have the megafone and cable & Wireless connection for long distance and digicel(his personal phone). He has charged every phone because he knows that the power will be out. This site is the best for real. I'm so glad that I found it because you all have helped us in so many ways.

Yea, digicel gave me a hard way to go. I mean the security factors are great but it makes the transaction a bit impossible. I had to call my bank for an 6 digit autorization code and I have a credit union thats not open on the weekends. I was like this is crazy. Digicel let me send 500JA as a guest which is nothing. Don't get me wrong I felt more secure with Digicel but I couldn't get through as registered member. Ezetop seems like they are an official site.

So the storm stayed out in the water longer than expected and weakened to a CAT 4. That is still high but a little bit better. I wish it would just stay in the water longer and weaken some more.

Anyway, I'm bracing for DEAN from miles away.

hurricanes actually strengthen over water especially warm water and weaken over land

I been doin more thinkin on this ... if they do have battery backups like vzw does then those sites can run on that i hope so!!

storm is now 80 miles from kingston and i called chris and his sisters no answer on any cell phn and the house phn is fast busy so ... they are in the bush so it may be more windy up there too called someone in town part of mobay they answered....this is drivng me crazy im at work i cant think i just so worried and its nothin i can do at all but wait ........ he told me stop worring go eat go do your work everything will be ok

I just got a text from my husband. He says the wind is picking up causing some trees to fall but he's fine and will send another text in an hour. I'm glued to the television which is probably a bad thing. Praying everyone makes it thru this storm without harm.

Yes that I understand but while it was in water last night it did stay in the same place and weaken some so thats what I was referring to.

FYI.....

I just used Ezetop.com to send phone credit to Melvin. Some of you may have used this method before but it works within seconds. There is a small fee like a $1.33 US so that isn't too bad. I sent $20 dollars to his digicel phone so that he could call his other family if he isn't able to get out of the home to buy credit from the store. Just wanted to supply you all with this technique in case you need it.

I spoke to my dad earlier and he says it looks like one of our neighbour's roof isn't looking too good. They're in Spanish Town. My husband is in Portmore and power is out as is water. When I try to call his Digicel I get a message that due to the hurricane in the area I am calling, our call can not be completed as dialed.

I am trying not to be worried either, but I don't think any of us can help it.

I have spoke to my spouse about thirty minutes ago and he is okay. It is really windy where he is at in Portmore but for the most part everything is ok.
