They did not ask for the no impediment, (she did not have one), she was made to sign a "no impediment sheet"

Hummmmm......wonder if they are "waiving" that requirement because it has become so hard to obtain

Only 4 more days til the wedding!! I leave for Jamaica this evening!!

Best wishes Marlita. Try not stress out too much.....this should be a happy time!! (L)

Are you sure they are "waiving" it? I wouldn't count on that till we hear something official. I don't remember Sarah saying that Marlon had to sign a waiver and he didn't have his non-impediment either. If I remember right, she said he wasn't even asked for it.

We all know how they seem to change the rules depending on how the wind is blowing on any given day.

Anyone reading this, please continue to get that non-impediment form until we hear something officially.

I said I "wonder" if they were.....I never said they were

This is the first "we" have heard about all this......I would NEVER tell anyone to not get the form. If that's how it came off, I am very, very sorry!!

No, Mindy. I got that.

Just making sure any newbies do too.

Question on the I-130 question #22. Am I filing for AOS? He's still in Jamaica. Do I feel this out with Kingston Jamaica or nothing at all?

Marlita don't feel bad that question was confusing to me at first esp since I was thinking of going the K3 route as well. On Question #22 enter Kington, Jamaica on part 2, since you will not be filing for AOS.

I have been. Florida is always on alert for hurricanes; I guess there's a possibility we'll be in the cone early next week. It was on my mind to ask if anyone had interviews scheduled next week.

Maybe God is trying to calm things before elections

Marlita, Have a safe trip and don't worry about the hurricane. Jamaica has a way of being in the path and at the last minute it turns. I have seen it happen many times before Ivan finally hit. Enjoy your honeymoon.

Thanks so much Nyseness!! You have been a life saver through all this and I've barely even begun. I was just about to chop it up to putting N/A in that area, but my gut kept saying put Kingston, Jamaica.

Well I am finally done filling out the two forms. Just updating our pictures after the wedding and cover sheet and I should be good to go.

Hello All!

Thanks for all the warm wedding wishes! I truly appreciate it, as this has been a long and emotional journey with me and my family to get to this day and get it to a point where they understand and respect my decision in the matter. Its nice to have the support when you need it.

Thanks VJ family! I'll be sure to post pics either here or somewhere online for all your viewing pleasures.

I've heard of it and I know a few people have posted this question on VJ. From what I have seen, there are those who do receive the SSN in the mail without going to the Social Security office, but there have been a greater amount that have had to go and apply because they didn't get it.

Hopefully some of our more seasoned Yardies can let you know more.

That's correct, it can go both ways I guess it just depends on the Consulate.
