thanks for the tips jomo's girl. i won't worry too much about his diploma then. he doesn't seem too interested in going back to school. and i'll advise him to get 2 copies of his long form birth certificate. he sent me an original bc, but i hear that one is no longer valid.

I wouldn't worry too much about the diploma....not even sure it would be "accepted" here. "Everyone" <employers> are interested in knowing if Roy got his GED....they could really care less what happened in Jamaica

Regarding the Birth Certificate -- I had Roy get two "originals" One we gave them at the interview and one he has here <and we have used it a few times>. I am going to have to order another "copy" because we have to send one to get his Passport renewed.....if you can, maybe you should have him get three copies....I wish Roy would have done that.

that's a good tip. i'll suggest it to him when he goes to get his long form bc.

a tip for anyone with an upcoming medical who will be "fasting from a certain kind of herb": i bought a home drug test kit from walmart and left it with him with instructions to use the kit prior to the medical exam to ensure that everyting will be criss. lol

:D I love how you phrased that so tactfully!! My friends fiance (from JA too) actually went to his own personal doctor to get tested BEFORE he went to the actual Medical exam!! They wanted to make absolutely sure he was clean  I even delivered him two sets of those pills that help clear out your system - he took one before each test.

No way woman!! You're at the top now  You said you guys were going to be working on it immediately after he gets here :innocent:

that was very smart of him rhonda. i was curious as to how much a test costs in jamaica and i was going to have him do the same thing until i happened to see that walmart had a home test. all that much more convenient, and it wasn't too expensive...only 20 bucks.

and i ain't too ashamed to say you can add me to that baby list. we both turn 30 this year and we're eager to get started. ;)

Yep. I told her the same thing.

Better find those immunization records, Tia. If not, yes, he will probably have to get a whole new set of shots. They can be very costly. Make sure he brings them with him to the US too. We thought we lost Andre's, at one point. I was ready to kill him.

We have an old birth certificate of Andre's. No one has questioned it thus far. We've showed it at immigration, the DMV, SS office, etc.

you're telling me that jomo never did get the updated bc and no one had any problems with it? wow i thought for sure that somebody somewhere would've had an issue with it. wow.

my fiance's bc doesn't have his father listed on it either. i'm actually a bit confused about it, because i didn't think a child could take his father's last name unless the father's info is on it. (i don't think they were married at the time of his birth) so when i mentioned this to him, he decided to ask his mom about it. her only response was, "go ask your father why his name isn't on it." she was so nonchalant about it i almost laughed out loud.

another thing i just can't believe is that his date of birth is wrong! how in the hell can someone mess up a date of birth on a birth certificate for crying out loud??? isn't that the whole purpose of a bc? lol!

Well my husband it took him 2 years to get his birthcertificate to get worked out. His birth mom forgot to put his name on it. That is why we waited so long for this process. His dad passed away almost 20 years ago so his name is not on it. So Dwain could never go ask his Dad why his name is not on the birth certificate. He dare not ask his birth mom because she has no clue about us. I just can't understand why his mom would have 13 kids and only take care of 3. I am glad Dwain went to his aunts house or we would of never met. To his Birth mom :bonk: for not putting his name on the BC. Mr goodness.

Most JA people I found won't jump from the cliff.

I remember I jumped 3 times in a row and then ended up in the hospital that was 9 1/2 years ago I was a crazy teenager. Ricks Cafe at least know they have a nice platform know not like the old days. So I understand why they were chicken.

I wouldn't jump from the high cliff but I jumped from a few lower ones :P Tony jumped off the high one though! WHY did you end up in the hospital???

I can't really state it on a post what happened. Lets say I cried all the way to MoBay in the bus hiding it until the next day because another guy on the trip got stung by a jelly fish and had a near death experience. So I thought I toughen up until the next day I couldn't bear the pain no longer.

Personal question do most of your guys smoke? My husband has never in his life time and I am just curious what the numbers are. Most people I know don't except for like 1.

At the medical today they didn't even ask him about the herb. He went in at 8:30am and out by 10:30am. It cost him about 200 US for the process.

No way woman!! You're at the top now  You said you guys were going to be working on it immediately after he gets here :innocent:

:bonk: Rhonda How could you put me at the top!! Okay you are right we are going to start trying next month been of the BC for a good 5 months. Wish us luck

But Hey if Destiny wants to be added to the top go for it  The Race is on

I want to thank you for the advice early on from everyone and wait until the process is over and until he gets here. I don't think I could of handle that plus the stress of this journey. :luv:

i've added my fiance to the list. i'm actually a "never" person myself. i made it through my high school/college years without experimenting, and i said to myself i'll never need to experience it. now that i've been to jamaica 11 times, people don't believe me when i say that i still have never tried it. lol

belwin, i'll let you go first. you've been married for a while. i'm sending baby vibes your way girl!
