CONGRATS RHONDA!!! Good luck with a girl ;) I am praying for boys :P

It's interesting how the doc is now checking "the goods". I talked to Andre and he said that when he had his medical he didn't even take his pants off. The doc was a male and all he did was check his chest and breathing and ask him the questions and call it a day. He said he would never have gotten the visa if that man doctor was gonna check the goods.

So I have noticed it mentioned a few times before...will your JA guy go to a male doctor or only females? It is interesting because most women want to go to women docs and most JA men want to go to women docs...oh to be a woman doc in JA...must be richer than the men. Andre said only if he was unconscious would a male doc ever touch him. He has been here almost 2 years and has great insurance - I can not convince him to go get a basic checkup...just to check to make sure all is well.

i'm trying to think ahead to the aos phase once he gets here. so far, all he's gotten is an immunization card and the bill (of course they dare not forget that right? lol). is the i-691a going to be given to him at the exam or will it be sent to the embassy? someone on here said that it's important to get the doctor to fill out an i-691a. does he have to specifically ask for it?

They won't give him a copy of the actual form but see if he can get a copy of the immunizations that "they" gave him. It will make it easier when you have to do the supplement for the AOS -- that is depending on what Civil Surgeon you can find by you <<they are all different and (most) will try to take as much $$$$ from you as they can>>

Oh no.....X ray machine is broken. I'll advise my fiance tomorrow is his appointment. Please advise on his final bill. I think my fiance should be okay with the fees...just want to give him an idea of how much it costs with 3 shots.

yeah, my fiance said it's pretty busy there. he said the bill was a bit more than $11,000J. i hope that's the total bill and not just what the immunizations cost. he said he brought $95US for the exam fee plus another $8,000J for shots.

he met a distant cousin at the exam today. he has a unique last name and there was another man there with the same last name. they chatted for a bit about their common relatives and exchanged numbers. imagine that!

so minfay, will his immunization card be sufficient for the aos?

so now that we know what they do to the men, what do the women have to endure? do they have to get pelvic exams?

It should be. Your biggest problem is gonna be finding a Civil Surgeon who won't require you to do another physical -- the physical he is getting today is good for one year. <<We found someone who told us $150.00 for the Supplement and any needed shots. When we got there Roy didn't need any shots but they still charged us $100.00 to fill out the supplement. The Doctor didn't even want to look at the Immunization Card that we had >>

Here's the thing -- I'm talking about Jamaica -- unless you lived in a cave you have already gotten the bulk of the shots sometime in your life. Most of the immunizations you only need to get once -- maybe when you are young and that's it. I think the most shots that anyone has ever needed to get at the actual "physical" were three -- don't know what they were though, sorry. And, from what I have read here on VJ (in the past two years) most people DO NOT need to get any more shots from the Civil Surgeon.

So.....what he can get from the physical will help you prove to the Civil Surgeon that you DON'T need anything else. It's all about the $$$$$
