i read in packet 3 that the ds-156 must be completed on the internet and then printed out. do you think the embassy will make a big stink about the ds-157 being hand written? i filled out everything i knew, but my fiance couldn't remember his work history since he's been at the same job for so long. so i brought it to him the last time i was there and he filled out that section by hand. i thought i should go ahead and do another one just so that it's completely typed out...and then i lost the info, and then my computer started acting up and now i can't view any .pdf documents on my computer. so basically, i can't complete the form. lol i hope it won't be a big deal.

That's the one with the barcode -- that's all that really matters. I know that I had to fill it out on-line because some of the choices came from a "pull-down" menu and it got messed up when I tried to print. I would think if your handwriting is nice -- and you can print it out with the barcode -- that's all that really matters.

There have been women on this Thread who got "burned" by a Jamaican in the past -- and went back for another one -- AND -- got burned again!! I guess sometimes you just can't help yourself.

Me -- I would take a Jamaican any day over an American. And if I had a bad experience I don't know that I can say that I wouldn't ever think about a Jamaican man again....

Cause we women are fools for love. Who doesn't want the "Pretty Woman" or "Cinderella" story? I know I do. And, there is something romantic about the foreign man. Plus, we are the ultimate optimists......we WANT to believe in the good of people. (sigh!)

Amen Sister!! I second that!!!

I know I'm late but I also agree. I have never dated an American man and never will, based on what I have seen w/others. I love my Jamaican men!!! Yes some are dogs but heck that is every man.

In regards to phone service/netspeak, I heard about a service called mega phone (i believe it's a cell phone) and you pay a flat fee (1,200 ja?) and you can make unlimited calls to the us
:ot:

I remember sometime ago someone mention a VOIP w/unlimited calls from to and from JA. I already looked into Vonage but I could have swore it was Cable & Wireless. Well I've been trying to search and came up w/nothing. Basically I'm looking for a service to get that plus a JA # if possible ASAP!!! Any suggestions???

It's called Netspeak (www.netspeak.com) and it's through C&W...My dad has it in Jamaica and he has a local florida number. I know that they have a local office here in Florida: http://www.netspeakflorida.com/

I was looking into that but Javon doesn't have internet service at home. He's looking into how much the internet cost down there but I personally don't think it's worth it.

Thanks but the service sucks. I'm still looking into other options.

I'll get more information about it from my dad, but I remember him telling me that you can bring the unit to the US and use it here. When I get more info, I will let you know. There was another service that I found, but they are out of Canada, but they would ship it to you. They had an ad banner on Jamaica Gleaner - it's called Foreign Phone (http://www.foreignphone.com/faq.aspx).

Thanks this was the info I was looking for. I couldn't remember the website or the service.

my fiance has been at his medical exam since 8:30am. the x-ray machine is broken, so mobay hope is transporting everyone to another facility in falmouth in "batches." the last group left at midday and just returned not too long ago. hopefully, my fiance is in the next batch. this is turning out to be an all-day event. it's a good thing today was his day off or he wouldn't have made it to work. he had to get 3 shots. and yes, the doctor examined his "goods" just like they did mr. jengles. much to his relief, he had a female doctor examine him. when i told him that they'd be looking at "every part of him", he said he wasn't letting a male near him. lol!

i'm trying to think ahead to the aos phase once he gets here. so far, all he's gotten is an immunization card and the bill (of course they dare not forget that right? lol). is the i-691a going to be given to him at the exam or will it be sent to the embassy? someone on here said that it's important to get the doctor to fill out an i-691a. does he have to specifically ask for it?

Oh no.....X ray machine is broken. I'll advise my fiance tomorrow is his appointment. Please advise on his final bill. I think my fiance should be okay with the fees...just want to give him an idea of how much it costs with 3 shots.
