My take on it is this...no one on this thread has been denied for not having enough proof of relationship. They are issued 221g (blue slip) and given a chance to submit more proof to satisfy the CO. If you are comfortable with him going to the interview alone (and he is comfortable as well) then let him go. If he is issued a 221g then you can spend the money on going down to JA and submitting yourself as further proof. Yes it will delay your visa but in the end you won't have spent the money going down if it wasn't really needed. You are definitely the best proof but if you can't/don't want to go for the interview let them go alone. You can always go down later if need be.

I remember sometime ago someone mention a VOIP w/unlimited calls from to and from JA. I already looked into Vonage but I could have swore it was Cable & Wireless. Well I've been trying to search and came up w/nothing. Basically I'm looking for a service to get that plus a JA # if possible ASAP!!! Any suggestions???

Thank you soo much for that perspective.... I/we have been battling with the same issue. I left it up to Kevin. Either I go for the interview or go down after he has the visa (lord willing) and can come back to the states with him. He is more nervous about flying than going to the interview so he wants me to fly with him  If he is given the "blue form" then I guess I can just plan my trip around the date they give me....hopefully though the visa will "soon come" because I don't know how I would be able to stay longer than a couple of weeks-and that is a stretch!! I am glad to be able to watch so many of you go before me.... my estimated time seems sooo far off (Dec).

I had the baby on Monday and hubby passed his interview yesterday, he said the officer told him out of 45 people so far for the morning, he was the only one who got a visa. I'm still waiting to hear all the details so I can pass it along.

DOUBLE Congratulations :dance::dance:

I'm so excited! I go for my ultrasound tomorrow morning (Friday) to find out the baby's sex :goofy::dancing: I hope he/she cooperates and isn't crossing it's legs

Congratulations to you two!

I can't believe that they DENY that many people in one day! I never knew it was that hight of a percentage. Now I'm getting concerned cause it seems like there's really no room to not worry, until after the visa is in hand.

Ronda - hope the legs aren't cross !!!!

I didn't even think they interviewed 45 a day

That number does seem high, I wonder if perhaps those were for the visitor's visas as I know Jamaica constantly denies those and Marlon had tried twice many years ago.

So Rhonda, the sex of the baby is ________?

Jengles: Post pics of baby as soon as you can!!!!

I emailed the embassy today to ask if they were requesting any additional paperwork i must bring to the interview and here is their response:

Dear Madam

Your presence will be good enough for the interviewing officer.

Kingston IV

-----------------------

Someone asked me if there was anything suspicious about our relationship.....

There really is nothing out of the ordinary about our relationship...we have known each other for 3 years, we are the same age, i've been to JA 12+ times(in the last 3 years, many times before i met him), we know each others families well, our kids have met, we had tons of proof (other than me), etc. The only possible thing that I can think of is that my fiance is a painfully shy person...i'm talking extremely shy....i can just picture him at that interview with his head down stuttering and barely able to utter the answers....so i'm guessing that he maybe didn't come across to the officer very convincing...i don't know that is just my feeling about it.

What I have realized is that even though those officers give us and our SO's a hard time it is really because they have our (the US citizens) best interests in mind. Can you imagine all the short lived engagements and marraiges if they didn't? I just try to put myself in their shoes and try to understand the necessity of their questions and requests rather than get upset and frustrated.

I continue to remain positive and hope that all of you who are fretting can do the same....

finesse I really like your outlook on your situation. I have a natural tendency to think people are "haters" and jealous and they just like to tell people NO. And not just in this situation but when ever someone has the ability to tell someone NO they will. But when we go for our interview I will definitely be mindful that they have my best interest at heart and are not the typical hater. Positivity we a deal wid!

hello everyone,

Thanks to and for all the VJers, who posted info and answered questions, I'm sure without VJ and that very important binder he would not have passed.

here's the list of questions he was asked

Oh my gosh, she really grilled him :( Tony would not have been able to answer some of those questions 3 years ago when we had our interview. She asked him more questions than I've every heard anyone asking here on VJ. Thank goodness he did well and got the visa

The baby was 7lbs 10 ozs and 19 1/2 inches long and came out from 7 minutes of pushing, (the doctor threatned to cut me) that was great incentive to push. baby girl is very quiet not at all like her brother.

This gives me hope!! How long were you in labor? I'm terrified of the whole labor/delivery part of it. :dead:
