Hi everybody...

Sorry I haven't been on lately, my internet was out Friday until today but now it is fixed! Marlon called me on Friday and told me that he received his interview letter "packet 4" BUT the date and time stated August 14 @ 7:30am! I am not complaining though, it gives me more time to pull a flight miracle out of my #######! lol

Congrats to Denden, Alien Girl, and who ever I missed (sorry, had to skim through 5 pages to catch up!)

I have an exam tomorrow so I won't be on until tomorrow afternoon. Have a great day!

whoa what happened? having 2 different interview dates is a scary thought. i'll be really mad if the same thing happens to us. it's a good thing for you because it gives you an extra week, but i've made special provisions to attend an intervew on aug. 7th. i DO NOT want to find out the date has been changed.

good luck on your exam sarah!

With one.....yes.

Without one....no.

If he's still in JA, you would probably have to mail him the signature card to sign and mail back in.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Birth Certificates: Thanks for all the info on this guys. SOunds like its hit or miss with having issues with the father not being on the BC. It is quite expensive to get that info changed....I think i read about $5000J! So I guess I will just have to wait and see what issues arise out of my fiance not having his father on the BC. I mean there's really nothing we can do, his dad is deceased and not even Jamaican, so.....as far as he's concerned, he's fatherless.

To add to all the wedding talk, I'm super excited about our Jamaica wedding. The only thing I wish I thought of earlier was doing the JA civil wedding a long time ago so that we could've started the CR1 process months ago, but ah well, it is what it is. We both definitely wanted to start our lives together as husband and wife and he wanted to be my husband BEFORE he uprooted himself from Jamaica, and i truly respect that. The Jamaica family gets to have the knockout AWESOME wedding, and the American fam gets the "meet and greet reception", when he finally gets here. So with this set-up I got to have an official wedding in JA, with all the hoopla for a fraction of the cost as I would do it in the US, plus ALL his family and friends get to experience it, and let me tell you they are sooooo excited! I got aunts calling me at 6am to talk about cake decorations and tablecloth colors! LOL! They're worst than my OWN mother, but I love them.

Maybe for those of you having a wedding in the States you can start planning early during your filing stage so that within the 90days that your finace/fiancee gets here you can have a nice little ceremony planned. Trust me there are THOUSANDS of ways to have a great inexpensive wedding.... you just have to do your research, keep a straight head and don't believe the hype. (L)

My brother-in-law was able to add his name to my sister's acct w/a SS card. LaSalle is telling me he needs to be present but his ITIN is acceptable.

I think if he is over 18 it wouldn't matter. He's an adult and therefore doesn't need "parental permission" to leave the country. I wouldn't worry.

Well.....I had Roy (right there with me), his State ID, his SS card -- for Washington Mutual.....for TCF we also had the Green Card and we had no problems. I can see where I might have if he was not physically here. Especially since I didn't have "relationships" with either of these banks.

Ok, thanks. I cld TCF (the branch by me) and they also said I could open a new acct w/him even tho he doesn't have a ss # but he has to be present. My brother-in-law but of course my husband is not. I'm going to wait b/c when he comes I'm going to open a separate acct at WaMu for us. I have a savings acct there for my daughter and so far we had no problems.

I trying to obtain as much add'l proof of relationship for the interview. I didn't know about the ins until it was too late. Is there anything else I can do at this point? I'm not ready to have my name change....can't deal w/the questions attached to that one :)

ok, after the incessant nagging of my mother, i've decided that i some clarification on this: she insists that my fiance won't get an approval unless we have written letters to eachother. i have sent him letters early on in our relationship. but once we got really serious i stopped writing him since we talk on the phone all the time. for proof of a relationship, i have nearly a year's worth of phone records, all of the pics we've taken together, and a few envelopes from letters i've sent him. he has never sent me a letter before. i set up an email account for him a while ago so that i can send him any pertinent info for the visa. he has yet to even log on, lol. if it weren't for our text messages i wouldn't have any written communication from him. since i'm not able to print off our texts, i've decided to log on to his email account and resend what he texts me in email format so that i can at least print them off and include it on our binder. it's not exactly honest, but it's not fabricated either.

so i guess my question is has anyone gotten an approval using phone records and pictures and not snail mail? i keep thinking my mother's advice is outdated since she went through the visa process over 30 years ago (back when access to phone records, text messaging, and email was non-existent).

Quick Question:

For those of you that are filing the CR/IR visas when did you add your spouse to your medical plan? I'm looking into adding my husband but can't find out if I can still add him now or do I have to wait until open enrollment?

at least you do have open enrollment at your job. my job has closed enrollment. he must be added within 30 days or he can't be added at all! so that would've been a major problem if we had applied for the spouse visa. it's too doggone expensive to pay insurance premiums for over a year while he's still in jamaica with his own insurance. i adopted my son but i chose not to add him to my insurance. since he's considered a "special needs" child, the state of indiana will keep him on medicaid until he's 18. then when that one drops off i can add him to my insurance as long as he's in college. if his current insurance drops him then my insurance will allow me to pick him up.
