Yes he's in kingston, he lives in kingston didn't have to travel too far

ok then. my guy would be better off paying more for the exam in mobay. he hated his experience in kingston and dreads having to go back to pick up the interview letter.

jengles that lady shoulda backed off once you told her it was fake. and really, it's none of her business what you do. judgemental people suck.

My fiance just made his appointment for mobay. They told him to bring $95 dollars US plus up to $9000 J for extra shots that may be needed. I have to talk to him about this again...as this seem a bit much. Last night he called me and I was at the gym (as this process is stressful and it's my way of releasing the stress). He wanted to vent to me about his trip to kingston yesterday. The bright side is that he got the Packet 3 and Packet 4.

He probably won't have to pay that much...

I emailed Kingston and asked if there is any way that Marlon can come and pick up packet 4 as he will need it for his medical on the 17. They said there is no possible way as the next date he could do that was July 31st!!! :help: What the heck are we supposed to do now? I emailed Marlon a copy of the email from them stating the date and time of his interview, will that suffice for his medical?!?!??!?!!?

He should just show up at the embassy. That's what my fiance did on monday. He made sure he had the NVC case number (KNG#####). He explained to them the situation and they told him to come back the next day. He has not received packet 3 as of yet. Thanks to VJ and your help, I knew to send the DS 230 by courier.

They made an appointment for him to come back on Tuesday. He was able to pick up everything then.

Thanks, I will let Marlon know to do that. I did send an email to them stating that he NEEDS that interview letter for the medical & the interview. We'll see what they have to say to that!

Mi agree with Sarah, mi woulda do di same ting too..dem no easy...just show up..all he needs to do is pick up a doggone piece of paper come

what the feezy?! that's not good at all. if my fiance just shows up at the embassy and they tell him to come back tomorrow it still nah go work. the interview letter is so redundant!

Have him go next week before the medical appt.

Have him go next week before the medical appt.

i sure hope that's gonna work. it's really not that feasible for him to go to the embassy unannounced and request the interview letter if they tell him to come back tomorrow. i understand that we have to do what we have to do to get the job done, but for the love of God, that's a freakin' long trip to take!

i wish there was such a thing as a "reverse courier service" with the embassy, where the beneficiary would pay the fees instead of the the embassy.

what is going on with the Mo Bay clinic, hubby had his medical on 6/28 and they told him to bring $7000JA for the extra shots. I can't remember how much he paid but it wasn't the $7000 they told him to bring, it was less and now the price jumped $2000 that nuh sound right

You know i think the extra shots fee $7000JA is less in mobay b/c the medical exam itself is high $95US. The extra shot in kingston is more $9000 and the medical is $80..they do that to offset the ptices they CAN turn out to cost the same just looks like it's not cause "6 a one and 1/2 dozen a di other" same difference

You should email them again and let them know when the medical date is and see if they can give u an ealier time to pick up the letter. U know it could also be that they might just interview him on that date it is so close to ur interview. Why would they give him such a far date to pick up particulars...it no mek sense

The problem with that is the coming back part. How far is Marlon from Kingston?

I remember Andre travelling over 3-4 hours to get to the embassy.

Yes it was far for my fiance. He wasn't too happy about it. But in the end he got everything he needed. And now he can relax for a second.

Thank God it seemed to be so much easier last year. Andre went there, dropped off DS-230, picked up packet all at one trip and didn't have to go back until the interview. It's like a game now to see how difficult they can make things.

how did he get the interview letter? my fiance did the same thing- brought in the ds-230 and picked up the next set of papers, but the interview date wasn't set yet. now we have to fret about getting the interview letter in time for the medical.

the embassy sent packet 3 out on may 31st and it just now arrived. it took 6 weeks.

kk did your fiance spend the night in kingston or did he make the trip 2 days in a row?

LOL...I guess so. He had to explain to them several times that I got the DS-230 off the internet. They didn't believe that he hadn't received anything. Just think if we were still waiting on that packet. We definitely won't have an interview set already. Thank YOU...VJers.

They gave him a date that day. That's what I'm saying, Tia, it was easier.

As a sort of a side note, the first time he went, he went after the 10 o'clock (traffic was bad) cut off for just walking in and had to come back the next day. He did travel 2 days in a row then.

He made two trips from Lucea. But he's a dedicated person I tell ya. I don't know if I would've wanted to do it. It was all his idea. I actually tried to talk him out of going the first day because the website clearly says that information will only be given out via an appointment. But I'm proud of him.
