Did any of your guys husbands hate air conditiong when they came to the states??

I have to agree w/Dwain, I HATE a/c. When I first got to work I was ok, but after a few mins I had to go back outside to warm up b/c I was freezing. I can barely work b/c when I'm cold I get sleepy. I have dranked 3 cups of hot chocolate just to stay warm. I have central air at home but refuse to turn it on. I don't mind the heat as long as I have a few fans going.

I don't care for A/C either. Damien loves the A/C.......we agrue over the it every night.

On days like today, love the A/C....but if there's no humidity I'd rather have the patio door and windows open with some fans running, Craig on the other hand, LOVES A/C !!!

I just turned on my A/C this weekend. It's not that I don't like it....I'm just being conservative with my energy bill. BGE...which is our provider in Baltimore.....increase rates by 50%.

We try and keep the ac off as much as possible during the day. But, at night, it is cranking. The humidity and upper 90's here makes it impossible not to have it on at least part of the day.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

That's what my sister always tell me. She can't understand how I can stay in the house w/o a/c. It's been hot and humid these last few days but I was just fine.

I turned the air on last night at 5pm and he keeps askin when I am going to shut it off  NEVER! I need to get the house clean and he doesn't know how to clean. Now that I am done we can turn it off. But I hate sweating and cleaning. Also the nice thing about central air is we can set it to the temperature we like. I have it set to 80 degrees so we aren't freezing. Wow how cold at work is it?? To be drinking hot chocolate?

Again, we have an age difference and I am caucasian and we had no issues. I did send him with so many things there was doubt we had a legitimate relationship, including scrapbooks of my 14 visits to see him. I think it really depends on what you can prove and what you leave up to the imagination. If there are questions or doubts, they will likely require you to come along.

I didn't attend, but did send a 5+ pound binder down full of copies of emails, emailed text messages, photos, plane ticket itineraries, cards sent to one another, letters, $10,000 worth of phone bills and calling card receipts over the course of our relationship (crazy I know) - I seriously went overboard with our proof. And I included a color coded table of contents and the dividers for each section matched the color code for easy access to what was needed by both fiance and interviewer. We were approved (once hubby got updated copy of his birth cert) with absolutely no problems at all

I had a crazy idea to attend the interview with Marlon. My boss approved the time off and there is a slight possiblity that I could get a buddy pass from a friend. I called Marlon with the idea and he said that it was up to me. He asked me why and I stated that there was a couple recently where it was requested that the USC be present at the interview. He seemed keen on the idea BUT he did mention that he is still trying to come up with the money for the Non-Impediment form and cost of the medical. I have to admit that I am a bit disappointed that he wasn't excited at the prospect of seeing me but he told me not too worry that he could swing the interview on his own. I am just sad and missing him... :help:

Question for anyone who has gone thru AOS already. I am in the process of getting our AOS package together. My question is, do I "have" to send in a tax transrcipt? Or will the W-2 forms be good enough?

When I saw your post about going to the interview with Marlon I was thinking OH NO! The reason I was thinking that is because believe it or not, I was making my decision to go to the interview based on a few of you guys on here. When I saw that the other couple had went to the interview and was given the blue paper I was really really nervous. I am still nervous because there is a possibility of the interview not going well if I'm not present. It seems that you are in the same boat as me. Its not that we don't think that they can handle it but we know that it would be a straight shot if we go and the embassy won't really throw too many curve balls. I'm still debating the travel because I have other plans when my fiance gets here (like housing / saving to buy a house) and I know that the trip to Jamaica is going to run me about 600-700 dollars and right now I can't afford to take away from my savings. I mean if you can afford the travel, I would say go for it! I just really didn't want to make another trip right now. Anyway good luck at whatever you decide and I will be still working on my decision as well.

Actually I filed the I130 for the IR1 visa.

We submitted part 1 of the ds-230 with the Affidavit of support and paid the fees. Will he have to pay again when he goes for the interview? Becuase I thought that was covered in the fees for the ds-230. I sent a 3 hundred + (can't remember exact figure)

Right now I wondering why i filed for the IR1 and not the K3 or K1 it's been so long.

Anyone awaiting an interview at the embassy for a K3 visa? What date did they receive your package from the NVC?

We've been waiting since January.

that sounds like 2 long a time, did he submit a ds-230?

Yea that is a long time. Have you tried making an appt to have your spouse pick up packet 3?

No you don't have to pay it again. Filing the CR1 and IR1 is the same process. It will be up the Embassy which visa you will recv. Basically if you have been married for more then two yrs at the time of the interview then you will be granted a IR-1 visa if less then the CR-1. In my opinion, I think the CR1/IR1 are better visas w/ better benefits in the long run. Try emailing and calling the embassy to find out what the delay is. You should have already recv'd your interview packet if not you should contact them to schedule an appt to have it picked up.

I was looking at your timeline and wow your I-130 was approved from Nov 2006. If you don't mind me asking why is your case taking so long? The NVC process shouldn't take more then 2-3 for completion (shorter if you do the James Shortcuts).

Hey Claire :)

The process for us was a blessing to say the least - extremely easy and pain free, from sending the K1 application to our interview in Kingston. The biggest hold up was not getting approved first interview because hubby didn't have updated birth certificate like I told him to get  but once he took that in he was approved. Call the phone carrier and request the copies - even if they charge you for the records it will do nothing but help you out in the long run. Be sure to make two copies of everything as well. If they wanna get an attitude then get one back, you pay your bill every month and if you want the previous records then they should accomodate that.

We've known each other since 2004, and before we were dating and I'd call him or he'd call me I had access to my cell phone and home phone bills (as well as calling card receipts) so when the time came to file I printed them off from the first phone call between us.

Another thing I recommended to someone a while back was emails - even if hubby does not have internet access you still can create a free addy for this person and "send" a few emails from your address to that one and vice versa...it's a bit underhanded but as long as hubby gets the jist of the messages and knows about it then it will just make you two look better in regards to communication when you weren't in Jamaica

Some calling card companies have a log of the cards you've purchased - if you can contact them and get a transcript of that (even if it's just a general amount) that may help. My old company would email me receipts from all my internet purchases and I saved them all in a separate file and included that in my binder. Ringyard didn't exist then but you do what you can.

Save everything you can and take lots of pictures. I even sent hubby pics of my family and when he went for interview he had them handy - I tried to cover every angle and didn't want to miss anything.

Good luck!
