Just when I thought the days of being stresed out with the paper work was over for us, here it is back to haunt me!!! I've been trying for a week to find a civil surgeon to do our I-693A for us and no one will do it without a complete physical all over again Even though I showed them the I-485 instruction form where it says if you entered under a K-1 visa, NO PHYSICAL is needed These doctors are trying to say he needs one! They all say they will not do it without the physical because we don't have proof of the blood work that was done! That info was not given to us all that stuff was kept at POE. The charge for the physical is anywhere from 125.00 - 200.00!! I can pay it, but don't want to because I know that it is not necassary

I'm not sure how it works where you are at but is it possible for him to go to a local health department and get a physical done? Just a thought in attempt to save the both of you money.

Ok some good news!! I finally found someone who knows what their doing She said for us to come in tomorrow and they would take care of it for $40

Now I just need to complete the AOS package and get it in the mail My deadline for myself, is monday.

That's AWESOME !!!! We ended up going to the same place where Shemonya went to and back then, it was cheeeeap. I was quoted a lower price, but when I got there and they saw all the extra shots that he needed, is when the price started to go up !!!! Just make sure that the doctor in Jamaica writes up the 693 properly and has ALL of the information on there and write specifically shots that do NOT need to be given again, or continued.

Unfortunately...........they can't get just a "physical"!! You will need to find a "Certified Civil Surgeon" in your area so that you can get the Vaccination Supplement from them. That is what the I693a is. Go the the USCIS website to find the doctors in your area. Call around to all of them until you find one who will JUST give you the supplement and not make you go through the whole medical exam again. Prices (and knowledge) varies from Doctor to Doctor.

Unfortunately in our area....they wouldn't give Craig just a supplement.

You MUST give them the I693a in a sealed envelope when you file the AOS. You will get an RFE if you don't.

Do you have an interview? If not, all we did was send in the paperwork and a copy of the shot record for the AOS and they approved Andre. Make sure you need all that before you stress and run around getting all that.

Does the no impediment form really take four weeks? Does anyone have an idea of how long it takes? Also is the appointment letter needed to set up the medical appointment? Or can the letter be shown at the medical appointment?

kk- it didn't take my fiance 4 weeks to get the no impediment. i think he had to wait about a week, and then he was informed that it would be delivered to his house. several days after he was promised delivery, he went back to the place where it was issued and they just shrugged their shoulders. after a few days of waiting in long lines someone finally suggested that he go to their mailroom to see if it's there and sure enough, it was. they were really unorganized. he has to go back to get his certified birth certificates and he's kinda dreading it. lol

Man I was looking forward to eating at Maxine's booth at the taste on Saturday. What a total bumme.r It use to be good. What did u have Anna? I guess I will have to eat something else at the Chi Taste.

Remember they have several cooks so the food varies from time and time. I had the curry goat b/c the oxtail didn't look good. It was sloppy and wasn't brown. When I finally got the goat I wished I could change my mind b/c it was "white". I can't eat my meat w/no color, I'm a picky eater. My daughter got the jerk chicken and she didn't like it either. They only had a few selections to choose from. Maxine is a good cook but some of her cooks na ready.

You don't need it to set up the appointment. But you do need it when you go to get the medical done. If you already know your interview date, you can call and make a apptointment, they will ask you when is the interview and give you a date.

You need to know the interview date to make the appt for the interview. Make the appt at least 2 wks prior to your date. However, you will need the actually interview letter to attend the medical.

No we don't have a interview, I was thinking about doing the samething, but I want to het thru AOS thru without any RFE. It would be just my luck that I'd be the one to get one.
