 Congratulations to everyone!!

Jax & Anna -- did you go see Buju? We didn't. Roy worked all day and was tired.....we went to my cousins house to watch them try to blow up the neighborhood with all their illegal fireworks. Thankfully we all made it out of there alive. I still smell like smoke. Now Roy officially thinks us American are CRAZY :whistle:

Yes, I did and it was nice. His mic was low but he performed well overall. I ended up going to Wild Hare last night and I had a great time.

Question: If someone enters the country w/o inspection and marries a US citizen couple yrs later, is it possible for them to stay here and adjust status ?

No. They will have to to prove how they entered in the country unless they were married prior to April 2001 during the last amnesty.

The person will need to leave the country and have their spouse file for them. But remember there is a ban (yrs depends on how long they were in the US).

What time did he end up going on? Did you get rained on?

I got down there around 7:00 and he came on around 9:30 for about an hour+. He didn't rain at all. But I can tell you that Maxine's food has fell off. They used to be good back in the day, but yesterday I had to throw it away b/c it was garbage.

I found this in another forum.....sorry if it didn't transfer well

From the Report of the Visa Office, located at the following Department of State website: http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/statisti...stics_3163.html

Here are the top 20 countries issued a K visa. This includes K1, K2, K3, and K4. I thought there would be more of these issued per year, but clearly I am incorrect.

CODE

1 Philippines 7,633

2 Vietnam 3,804

3 China - mainland born 3,676

4 Mexico 3,498

5 Russia 2,100

6 Colombia 2,035

7 Canada 1,459

8 Thailand 1,376

9 Cambodia 1,367

10 India 1,324

11 Ukraine 1,242

12 Great Britain and North Ireland 1,136

13 Nigeria 1,082

14 Pakistan 911

15 Peru 819

16 Brazil 781

17 Cuba 741

18 Dominican Republic 733

19 Jamaica 659

20 Laos 590

That's about 12 interviews a week!!!!! I mean I they can do more than twelve. This is implying that the number is low due to the amount of time it takes to complete the process.

Thanks for sharing. It is just really interesting to see that Jamaica has one of the lowest numbers but yet they receive most of the negativity of being fradulent. I would have assumed that it was so much higher but 659 is a Surprise.

I talked to Marlon today and he got the shots he needed in May Pen for around $4000JA. There are a couple more shots he needs but he can do them when he gets to Arizona. He also scheduled his medical in Kingston for July 18. All he needs to do now is get the no impediment form and we are set! It's so nice to know that we are moving right along! I wish that I could go to his interview but I can't miss any work during that time. Now I just have to be patient...

I'm praying for you both, Sarah. Glad to hear things are moving along now.

How is the certificate of no impediment obtained and what is the cost?

He can go anywhere he can get birth papers. I forget exactly how much now. I think $95 or $100 US.

We didn't end up going. Hubby wanted to stay here because he had his placement test today. He said he already saw Buju at Summer Feast last year.

He meet our next store neighbor. Who just happened to live in Mo Bay for 6 months and is from Africa. His wife and I went to the same high school I found out too that she is 2 years younger than me. They had done the visa process 7 years ago. She said it was a nightmare. I didn't know that you had to go through more immigration at the 10 year mark. That is what she had told me. It is good to know hubby can talk to someone about Mo Bay anytime. I guess our neighbors wife said her husband was so excited to meet my hubby too ;) . They talked about how you never see anyone and no one says hello around here. How it is quit different from where they are from. So we chilled with them last night and watched the town fireworks from our yard.

:help: Just when I thought the days of being stresed out with the paper work was over for us, here it is back to haunt me!!! I've been trying for a week to find a civil surgeon to do our I-693A for us and no one will do it without a complete physical all over again :angry: Even though I showed them the I-485 instruction form where it says if you entered under a K-1 visa, NO PHYSICAL is needed :crying: These doctors are trying to say he needs one! They all say they will not do it without the physical because we don't have proof of the blood work that was done! That info was not given to us all that stuff was kept at POE. The charge for the physical is anywhere from 125.00 - 200.00!! I can pay it, but don't want to because I know that it is not necassary

Sorry for the rant.... But I really needed to vent!!

I hear ya Pam, I had vented here on VJ back in May (on VJ) because that's the same thing here in Maryland. I called 30 some odd places and not one of them would do "transfer" information. They ALL had to do the physical all over. Ended up costing $207.00 !! I was pissed, same ####### that he had done in Jamaica, had to be done over again, plus some.

JUST his Xray did NOT matter, unless there was some type of report/documentation from the doctor (in letter form), but that would have saved me about $80.00.

I showed the place where we ended up getting the information from the USCIS website that states the same thing......did NOT matter !!!!
