august 7th at 7:30 am

i was worried that i couldn't attend because i go back to work on the 14th. God is good!

congrats to those who got interview dates. We called for ours today and they said that our interview date would not be until september because we were not in the random selection for August. I think that is a bunch of BS.....but everything happens for a reason. Now if our interview date is in September than maybe I will be able to go with him. I'll keep praying

so it's a random selection for interviews. i wondered how they did that.

i was so excited to hear about the interview date that i forgot to set up an appointment for the interview letter pick up.

can the interview letter be picked up by a proxy or is it possible to set up a courier delivery from the embassy to the beneficiary? i figure this is a long shot, but i thought i'd ask anyhow.

and i also wanted to make absolutely sure that the i-134 is what's used for the k-1 visa. no one doing the k-1 was required the i-864 unless a sponsor was needed right?

I believe the interview letter is mailed to the beneficiary with the other information (packet 4). I'm not sure about this random picking from the computer because suppose a person name is not selected for months. It just doesn't makes sense that way. It should be that according to the date a person submits their information. That would make more sense to me (like 4-6 weeks from the date of the ds 230 form)

I have a question about the packet 3...

It includes the name of Marlon's son on the welcome letter. Marlon is a little worried because we forgot to fill out questions 21a & b on the DS-230 part 1. His son will not be coming to the US until much later. What should we do? :help:

We just got back from a business trip (mine) in Washington, D.C. If you saw any news clips of a Jamaican dancing in front of the White House last Thursday, that one was mine. He was so excited to see it.

We celebrated our first anniversary on Friday in D.C. Can't believe how fast the time has gone. For us, it is getting better and better each day.

As far as the job thing goes..........it's the luck of the draw. Andre applied for many jobs he was overly qualified for and after very promising interviews, never heard another word from them. His current job is working out well and he's moving up the ladder quickly. So, you just never know. Hang in there.

Happy Anniversary Jomo and Andre

Must have missed that! Happy belated 1st anniversary to Kelly and Andre!!!! (F)

So....I just used my Buy One Get One voucher from Spiritair to purchase my ticket to go to for the interview. Now..I'll request the days off...(backwards I know).

That's cool! All set then? I may go to Marlon's interview if it is in September but I am still hoping and praying that he will have an interview next month!

i just got an email response from the embassy (and i'm quite shocked, lol)

i asked them about the i-864 since i had filled out the i-134 instead and their response is that i should follow the instructions on the checklist.

so now i'm going through the redundancy of filling out both forms just in case. what an inconvenience!
