As far as I understand it there should only be a $100.00US fee for the Visa as well as the $550JA for the courier? Let's hope so anyways!

Where's Sonshyne & JG on this one?!?! Or anyone else who recently did a K1?

Hey Sarah I'm here You are right about the fee being $100 but word of advice for those of you that are going with your SO... Make sure you have the money in Jamaican dollars, they will not except US currency to pay the fee. On the morning of our interview we were at the paymaster before they opened waiting to pay the fee... After waiting around for 1 hr they finally opened. We were told they only except Jamaican Dollars and no exceptions... We only had 45 minutes until the interview and had to run around to find someone to convert our money. You want to talk about a serious panic attack Well needless to say everything worked out.

Howdy all,

I will say this, I know many, many more who got their hearts stomped on right here stateside.

AMEN! AMEN! This is the exact same point that I try to make to people!! And I am not afraid to say that I was one of those people who got my heart stomped and I do mean BIG TIME right here in the states.

I also make it a point to tell them that love is where you find it.... I just so happened to find mine in Jamaica

This will be an ongoing problem for you for a while.....the calls back to JA. It took lots of little chats to get Andre to understand how expensive the calls really were. I asked that he call his mom only once a week, his good friends the same, and his not so close friends like once a month, if he must. In the last year, I have seen a steady decline in the number of calls. And, honestly, most of his friends only call when they want $$$$, which we have learned not to answer at all. Our LD bill is down to around $40 a month now (at 17 cents a minute).

Hang in there......just stress it over and over and over again. If you get an intemized listing of the calls with times and dollar amount, that seems to help the most.

Thanks Jomo I took your advice and showed him the bill. I have tele3 and it gives you a itemized detailed bill. I also remind him of how we are getting ready to go thru AOS and that the money is needed more for that right now. I don't mine him calling... I just want him to be aware of the fact that it can and does get expensive.

My earliest memories of her are faint. She smelt lovely, like oranges, nutmeg and mint all mixed up. She used to sing to me before I went to sleep and she would be there making my tea for me in the morning.

That was before she went ‘a foreign’. Then, I went to live with Aunt Pearl. She hates me Aunt Pearl does. I get a beating for coming in too late, for singing too loudly, for eating out the Milo, for walking too slow when she sends me to the shop…..

Just please help me get thru the next 3 weeks, the baby is due in 2 weeks, his interview is the next week, and my grandmother is here and of course my house isn't clean enough for her, she won't let me sit down, ok ladies I have to go and clean my room...again...i feel like i'm 12

Girl, you need to sit down and RELAX You shouldn't be cleaning and cleaning when you're about to pop any day now! Unless you're trying to speed up the process! Is this your first baby? Good luck with everything.

This is my second child

and yes it does really happen, I was a cleaning monster with my son for about a week before he was born, i was washing his clothes, I did so much that I didn't buy any formula for him, luckily we took from the hospital,

I spoke to hubby last night and he was complaining that he wants to sleep all the time, I told him he's carrying the baby for me
