Some of us don’t have the fortune of having an outlet that we can "vent” to…I don’t have any close friends or family that I feel free to share stuff with.

Some people just can't do this. So I won't make myself vulnerable too often. But I genuinely admire those who do.

I agree Jamie, most ppl wish they had a place to go to "tell" their story. Like me mi have one fren wah just wah know ur biz, u tell her thinking she genuinely care but when pus hcome to shove she caan disclose her biz cause it so "top secret" so mi no tell her nuttin wah mi no want she know. She like to pity ppl and mi no go fi pity at all, she said to me one time "you want mi daughter christening gown it was expensive" I was like what the heck, no mi no want u damn pickney frock mi can buy mi own not cause u have u house, u pickney andu husband u tink u can "hand out" to ppl...she tink she a help me out but she making the whole matter worse.

Phew thanks so much to everyone! I was so freaking out as was Marlon! lol Ok I can breathe now! lol Marlon texted me today and let me know that we made a boo-boo on DS-230 part 1, we did not fill out 21a and b! Do you think that will affect us? Hope not as the embassy is currently sitting on our paperwork! Of course I will keep everyone informed as to when his interview date is. I need to email the embassy today regarding my change of address, I will inquire about an appointment. I am so thankful for all of you!

U know, I have no desire either to "bash" my Jamican men as I quickly jump on the defensive line. I was born and raised in Jamaica and men r "dogs" no matter where they come from. As Elizabeth says it has been her choice not to "air" her "laundry" to the thread and that is totally fine. I come here for advice, offer if or when I can. I don't think I would like to see a thread designated just to bashing spouses,terrible sister-in-laws and lets not forget the mother-in-laws . IMO if u happen to be having an issue u can post a question "if you chose" and someone that is or may have gone thru the same thing can comment sometimes saying nothing is better than having said something. I know for me I have asked of said something and have gotten a non helpful response, so then I'm like why the heck you u commented for if u had nothing to say ..Thats my take.

I like reading what is going in some other people's lives because it gives me insight in to how my own life will change once mr jengles comes up. the posts about the telephone calls back home and how some people will start calling and asking for stuff, is helpful and when mr jenglesf starts to pluck my last nerve I'm sure someone one here will see the bright side.

I feel you on that one. My mom is the same way, a neat freak for real! She came over Sunday b/c I cook dinner but man I was tired couldn't clean the kitchen right after we eat like I usually do. Mind you, I work two jobs, did laundry, clean the house and babysit my neice (6 months) and nephew (3) that day. Well, she come over and say "una caan wash up dem plate dem, wha yu hand join church" I was like mom, it's my house relax I have a dishwasher. WHAT!!!! A big mistake dat now she a talk bout yankee (no offense) pickney dem lazy and ray ray. All I could do was laugh b/c she will neva change. But I love her to death!!!

Marlon is a neat freak! lol He is constantly walking around behind me and cleaning up. He even makes the bed every day! It will be a fun adjustment when he gets here! lol Luckily my roommate Noah helps me out cleaning, laundry, and trash, or else it would never be done! But I am getting better!

Ok everyone, I need some help. I don't know if this is more of a question or I just need to vent.

My daughter passport expired back in 2006 and I just found out that children passports cannot be renewed. I will need to apply for another one, but the requirements have changed. Now she MUST have BOTH parents ok the issuance of a passport and it has to be notarized if one of the parents is not present. Well, her father can't sign or get it notarized for that matter. I went to USPS and spoke to the passport office and the man was pissing me off to the point it got into a heated conversation. He was being ignorant and spiteful. He didn't even want to give me the # for passport services.

Well I cld them (Dept of State) and told her my situation and she said there was nothing she can do. It's the "policy". I swear I nearly cuss the dang woman but I have to remember my case is in that office...

My daughter is suppose to go down in August for a few wks, but I don't know what to do. This is soooo unfair. What about the single mothers that have no idea where their baby daddy is??? What are they going to do??? You know ppl always asked me how was my daughter able to leave the country w/o her father's consent but I never thought twice about it. My daughter always had a passport and traveled to JA countless time. I am so lost.

Anna sorry to hear that. The new rules are driving a lot of people bonkers because they seem to impact innocent people so harshly.

If you cannot get a notarized letter from the dad, do you have any of the following:

One parents appears, signs, and submits primary evidence of sole authority to apply (such as one of the following):

Child's certified U.S. or foreign birth certificate (with translation, if necessary) listing only applying parent; or

Consular Report of Birth Abroad (Form FS-240) or Certification of Birth Abroad (Form DS-1350) listing only applying parent; or

Court order granting sole custody to the applying parent (unless child's travel is restricted by that order); or

Adoption decree (if applying parents is sole adopting parent); or

Court order specifically permitting applying parent's or guardian's travel with the child; or

Judicial declaration of incompetence of non-applying parent; or

Death certificate of non-applying parent.

I am hoping his name is not on her birth certificate. Is it? If it is, try calling the

State Department's Office of Children's Issues. They might be more knowledgeable about the various exceptions and loopholes...every law or regulation must have one.
