oh jengles i''m feelin' for ya girl. dealing with them is such a frustration. my fiance said he stood in line at the embassy for 2 hrs on tuesday when it was his turn it took no longer than 1 minute to get serviced. he handed in the ds-230 and the lady took it and dismissed him. it's a good thing he asked for a packet because they sure weren't going to ask him if he needed it.

now in this packet was everything he needed. it had a duplicate of the ds-230, the rest of the forms needed at the interview plus the medical information. the ds-230 is the only thing they gave mr. jengles?

what kills me is how the embassy knows it takes forever for mail to arrive and yet they still expect you to wait on it if you're already there in person to drop off forms.

my fiance still hasn't recovered from his trip to kingston. he left in the middle of the night, spent all day in kingston waiting and running errands. and now he's still trying to straighten out paperwork in mobay and is running around downtown and then going to work. he said he's falling asleep and doesn't even realize it.

Can't the forms in packet three be down loaded from the net? I don't remember my hubby picking up or getting it in the mail.I downloaded it and faxed...I think I over nighted it to him :) He took the froms to the embassy, and I called to get the interview date.

Glad everything is now moving..snail like but..moving..

So on a lighter note, I was at work today, guess what ? A patient brought in munchins for us and pepsi..but would u know the muchins were day old and stale and the soda was opened.:lol::D ..We were like what! is she serious...then one of my co-workers had a little coctail party and being lazy instead of taking off her sweater to iron it..SHE IRONED IT ON AND PRESSED THE STEAM BUTTON....AND GOT BURNED :lol: ..IN THE SHAPE OF THE IRON HOLES :bonk::oops: ...OMG WE COULDN'T STOP LAUGHIN..TOTALLY HILARIOUS...

Just thought I would share...:luv:

Good news - We got our NOA1 today for the I-751 petition to remove conditions

Bad news - we also got our appt. letter for the Biometrics appt. and we're going to be out of town on that day :( Has anyone ever rescheduled their biometrics appt? What do you guys think?

From what I've read, it's a BAD thing to try reschedule....Is there NO way you can cancel going out of town???

I read the same thing, we were at an info pass appointment yesterday and there was a man who totally missed their appointment biometrics and AOS, they were giving him instructions on how to reschedule it. So it may be worth a try.

Not really. I have a mandatory 2 weeks off work the first 2 weeks in July (all the auto companies shut down then) and I am forced to take my vacation time then. We are going up-north for 4 nights and another couple is also going with us. I can't post-pone it because I have friends from Kansas coming to stay with us right after we get home for 10 days!! The only other vacation I have for the rest of the year is the one week we're going to Jamaica in August.

People must re-schedule these things all the time right?

I wouldn't dare miss it!! It says right on the form "If you fail to appear as scheduled, your application will be considered abandoned" :o:wacko: So I have to try to re-schedule it and get a new date.

I talked to Tony right before he went to sleep and we've decided to go up to the place that actually does the biometrics in the morning when I get off work. I can't find a phone # for them and I hate to just send the paper in the mail (that's what it says to do to reschedule) because our appt. is only 8 days from now! We got the letter on June 21 and the appt. is for June 30 - not a whole lot of time to prepare or made adjustments. Wish us luck

Is there something in the air in Jamaica? Marlon was in Kingston on Tuesday getting money together for the no impediment form when his car was towed! He had to pay $3300JA to get it back and almost had to pay more because it was getting too late!

I just ordered phone service through Cox and now I pay 45 cents per minute rather than $1.09 a minute with T-Mobile and I get the phone service free for 6 months!

*sigh*

sounds like several of our fellas had a bad day in kingston.

dang girl t-mobile is high! are they charging you a monthly access fee in order to get that rate? the wal-mart phone cards are 50 cents a minute.

i've been racking up horrendous phone bills ever since i stopped using my prepaid phonecard service. i pay 38 cents/min and a 4 dollar monthly fee. i was going to look at ringyard but now fiance has mega fone (even thought it ain't working right now).

I told you guys.........3UTelecom........17 cents a minute. No monthly fees, connection fees, whatever.....And, they charge you to the second instead of rouding up to the minute every call. We've had it now for nearly 2 years. Best thing I ever did.

Does it say "reschedule" or just show up on any old Tuesday till such and such date or something like that? I've hear do people doing that with no issues.

I listened and signed up. I have been pleased with the service. On week-ends when I can't get through using Tel3Advantage, I use 3UTelecom. The calls go straight through with this service. I, also like being able to have 3UTelecom on my land-line phone service as the long distance carrier. Donna is able to call me from Jamaica using the "travel card" that comes with the service.

I did not know that about the travel card. Too late now. And, yes, I love having it attached to my land line as well.

Also, if you have any issues with these people, or just questions, they answer the phones promptly, they answer e-mails promptly, and they have always had answers for me in a courteous manner.

i'd like to revisit the ganja use topic. it sounded like there are some people here that are in the health/mental health field. i know someone (a family member) who takes anti-depression/anti-anxiety medication and she smokes weed. obviously, she's emotionally unstable. she has terrible mood swings and she'd difficult to get along with. now this is her without weed (and yes, she's a hot mess lol). my question is, what is the potential effects of using weed along with these prescriptions?
