Yeah but the only option available to talk with him! At least now I can call him more often and for less!

To beat out all of those phone prices, We use the Cable and Wireless phones that have cheap calling rates for overseas. He purchased the phone and purchases a phone card every month that gives him something like 30 hours talk time  per month. I have saved so much money from not having to buy phone cards and use my T-mobile minutes.. I don't know what to do. I just have to ring him twice and hang up and he knows to call me right back. Best thing ever

Marlon is in Clarendon and it's more expensive for him to have a landline not too mention that he can barely afford credits for his phone.

I pay 18 cents a minute to call a cell phone. I use tel3advantage. It's pin less calling card. But now that we have the megaphone....It's free!!!!:dance:

Yeah we have both cable and wireless and megafone because megafone doesn't work everywhere.

The cable and wireless is a cell phone though not a landline. If he is in Clarendon he should really consider getting megafone because all he has to pay is $1000 a month for unlimited calls. Thats like $15US...If you could send it to him each month thats a option because it really really cuts back on the money you spend on phone calls. I've had phone bills for like $400.00US and we both was like NO this cannot go on. So now my phone bill is like $100.00 and thats only because I may call his family thoughout the month and talk to them and of course he isn't around them all of the time. Good Luck with that. Now I just have to watch my minutes each month because I only have a 1000mins and he wants to talk all of the time. I usually tell him to call me on the house phone and it doesn't cost me anything. U should seriously look into one of their options down there because its so expensive here. Good luck with that!

i used tel3advantage for a year and i loved the rate and the pin-less dialing. it was so convenient to add more credit to my account over the internet. then it got crazy. i could no longer get through. and even though my calls weren't being connected, it was eating my minutes. this happened over several weeks, and every time i'd call customer service and tell them my problem, they gave me the same cookie-cutter speech and they'd only give me a few dollars of credit when so much more money was wasted trying to make these calls. i finally abandoned them and started using verizon wireless long distance. they cost about twice as much, but the connection is so much better. mega fone was great too. i hope my fiance can straighten out all the problems he's having with it cause we're both saving tons of money using it.

I am cracking up over the person who ironed her shirt while it was on her,

I use the verizon cellphone its for 40 cents to a cellphone in JA, I tried using ctacard.com they have 17 cents a minute but after a month or so the calls were not getting thru

so mr. jengles actually got back to the embassy after it was closed, he said when he went back he saw the same security guard that was there the two times prior, and the guard asked him what now,and he told the guard that I called and there was something waiting for him at a specific window, he said the guard took him to the window and the guard looked thru all the envelopes until he found his name,

he then goes back home and falls asleep while on the phone with me, but i can't be mad he's had a long day!!

Wow, I had the same problems/issues with Tel3 with bad connections and such....so, I found www.noblecom.com which is the same sort of pinless dialing and ability to recharge on line. Soooo Sooo much better. 12.4 cents per min. Its called the "Hello Jamaica Cell" because it is the rate to call to a cell phone. If you are calling to a land line you get a better rate and different card. Around the holiday's they send an email with coupons so I try and load up on the minutes when those come out.

i've been racking up horrendous phone bills ever since i stopped using my prepaid phonecard service. i pay 38 cents/min and a 4 dollar monthly fee. i was going to look at ringyard but now fiance has mega fone (even thought it ain't working right now).

We use Ringyard - it's only 19 cents a minute and no monthly fee or any other fees ;) I highly recommend it.
