hey sara, how did you get the embassy email you? i've emailed them twice with questions and they've never responded. did you email them with an inquiry for marlon's interview date?

I just sent an email to kkholiday2006. My emails are written is such a manner as to come across as professional sounding. I start them out Dear Sir or Madam, I am inquiring as to... At the end of my email I say something like thank you for your prompt attention to this matter, sincerely... Maybe that helps? And this is the email address I use

kingstonivinfo@state.gov

They always respond to all of my emails.

You can also use, consularkingst@state.gov..send all ur correspondence to both addresses I did I got replies in a timely manner

Thanks...I tried this route. I hope they have not given out all of the August appointments.

How often would you email the embassy between emails if they don't respond to the previous email?

I've been trying every other day before I called them. Now I just rely on them answering my questions over the phone. But I'm going to try and email them again using the other email address.

How do you get through? I've tried on a different day and they told me to call back on a Monday or Friday between 1:30 and 3:30.

CONFUSED!!!

I don't know if anyone can be of any help since I don't think anyone had this experience but the blue slip says to fax it back to the embassy when the information that they are requesting has been gathered (more proof of relationship). The consular officer said that we could come any tuesday or thursday whenever it is that i can come. Once the blue slip has been faxed so you think they will issue a new interview or they just need to have that on file so when we go it will be ok to just show up? Also, the embassy kept a lot of our information (both our birth certificates, no-impediment form, police record, passport, etc..). I just don't want to go there and then not be able to get in cuz we don't have an appointment.

Also, my man's friend also had his interview yesterday and went without his girlfriend and he also got a blue slip requesting more proof of relationship but never said anything about her having to come with him.

I tried calling the embassy but can't get through til Friday. I really need to get through to them to clarify what it is we are supposed to do.......

I know if "I" hadn't been at our interview Craig would have been denied flat out. Our interviewer was a total jack*** !!! He gave me such a hard time and asked crazy questions. He was unbelievably rude and we had tons and tons and tons of "proof" of our relationship, but they didn't want any of it in hand, wouldn't even look at any. Me being there.............was proof enough. He ONLY interviewed me, not Craig at all....

I would highly highly recommend jumpin on a flippin plane and getting down there!! Trust me (and all of us), we know how difficult the finances and getting off work can be, but if you really want your man to be here, you gotta go there in person and show them *that* proof......unfortunately that does suck....

If you can go, than I would fax them back (on that blue slip) as to when your travel dates will be !!!

Have you guys been together long? How did you meet? There is definitely a reason why they are asking for more proof. A Jamaican friend of mine is here, came here on a K1 ....he was given the same thing for more proof. She had to bite the dust and go there, for a day (this was 4 yrs ago) and they were approved.

Can't believe Craig will be here one year (tomorrow).....

Good luck to ya...

Kelly

Oh my... I wonder what is going on...what kind of proof are they expecting.

Her presence. Like others have said, they have taken the same "proof" back and was approved, this is just a hurdle she has to jump through.

I agree. I did not attend the interview, but I made sure I was in Jamaica at the Hilton around the corner from the embassy...just in case they wanted to see me...or in case they gave Henry a hard time and I had to go in there for whatever reason. It was worth the $$$ for ticket and hotel. I flew back to the states with my husband and that was really important for my nerves and peace of mind by that point.

Question:

What if the AOS is granted after the person has been in the US for two years. Will they go ahead and give you the 10 year green card. Anyone know? Also is it two years from DOE or the interview date?

Thanks

Marlon advised me not to email the hell out of the embassy! lol I am sure that once an appointment date has been set they will notify us. If I haven't heard from them or Marlon by next Thursday, I will send another email.

Usually if you have been married 2 years they will give the 10 year GC but I think it is all up the discretion of the person issuing the GC. I have heard here on VJ of people thinking they were going to get the 10 year card but only being given the 2 year card.

Wow, Kelly, Andre was here one year last Friday. Wonder if he and Craig crossed paths at the Embassy last year? Or if we did, somewhere in JA?

I did not go to the interview. Never had any thoughts that I would go there for it. I knew our proof was more then enough and would not be questioned. I just knew. I prepped him till he actually said "enough". I trusted him to carry it through. I KNEW when I asked him to do things and he did them immediately without a question, that he was as committed as me and would do anything and everything to make it happen. He did.
