Here's a question for my fellow yardies:

Are there 2 police records in Jamaica, one for local and one for overseas? Marlon said that he will need to get the overseas one again as it is only valid for 6 months but the local one is good for 1 year?

His mom may have his immunization record so he may not need shots!

Yes he will need the overseas one two he is correct. He probably will get one shot then and then need the follow up shot when he gets here. Dwain needs some follow up shot sometime. He missed his follow up shot in JA forgot about the date. He said you could do the follow up shot in JA or the USA.

You guys are working on things :D I dunno, I just had a feeling...

Yeah  I don't want to give up on my marriage. I love him a lot. He just isn't making good choices. I honestly think that living apart has helped save our marriage. Most people think that is crazy but I know that if we were still living together trying to figure this all out one of us would have killed the other by now :innocent: We have a long road ahead but at least we are on a road at this point.

With the divorce rate so high...there has got to be better way. I think it's wonderful. I was telling you about what a struggle it is marriage, my marriage that is, but when times are good, and when are able to overcome the struggles, it make marriage, just that much more wonderful, I think it's the struggle that build the marriage.

I agree.

I have been teaching 6 years. All I do is put my tax refund of about 1500 dollars each year into the shwab account. Once you have about 1000 dollars you can invest it is pretty easy. I paid my tax man 50 dollars to get me started. Just find someone who deals with peoples fiances and they can help. I also have a girlfriend in the Chicago Stock exchange. I only with draw money if the item is going to pay off in the future and not decress in value like my house and our education.

thanks for the advice. i'm gonna do just that!

I hope it pays off if you don't touch it a lot it just grows and grows sometimes you loss but make it up in a month. Good luck with it. I don't know where we be without it.

Even though Dwain says this town house is to expensive and we should be renting  . I am trying to tell him we are saving money without throwing our money to rent. He thinks you need all the cash to buy a house. I told h him on my salary that would never happen. I do all the finances so it is a difficult process to explain to someone not from the USA.

All I would says in call your congress man. I don't know what you could really do besides wait maybe the other ladies have better answers. The typical wait time I see for a K-3 and Cr1 visas is shortest around 9 months longest a year. I could understand with a kid on the way how u want him here pronto. I hope you can find away. Our K-3 and CR1 were both there when we interviewed. They actually pulled the K-3 out first and I told the lady to please go get our CR1. May a great outcome arise sooner than later for u guys.

I have not been on in ages but I logged on and read what was going on.

Time flies when you're having fun! Henry and I just moved into OUR FIRST HOUSE last week, home owners at last! :star:

Hey Darah!

We have both been seriously MIA! Congrats on the house!! That is great news! Glad to hear you and Henry are doing well!

Both of your husbands are named Henry? :D

I am just happy their names don't end in TON. My cousins in London teased me when they heard I was marrying a Yardie - they said all Jamaican guys names end in TON (pronounced TAN) - Dexton, Glenton, Lenton, Barrington, Cherrington, Carrington  ... so to see Tony, Roy, Henry, Dave, Andre and the likes was a relief.

Hi Elizabeth good to see you again. Out of the hundreds of students I taught the only tons names I had was Carlington and Vinton.

I know a Everton and Creigton.

CONFUSED!!!

I don't know if anyone can be of any help since I don't think anyone had this experience but the blue slip says to fax it back to the embassy when the information that they are requesting has been gathered (more proof of relationship). The consular officer said that we could come any tuesday or thursday whenever it is that i can come. Once the blue slip has been faxed so you think they will issue a new interview or they just need to have that on file so when we go it will be ok to just show up? Also, the embassy kept a lot of our information (both our birth certificates, no-impediment form, police record, passport, etc..). I just don't want to go there and then not be able to get in cuz we don't have an appointment.

Also, my man's friend also had his interview yesterday and went without his girlfriend and he also got a blue slip requesting more proof of relationship but never said anything about her having to come with him.

I tried calling the embassy but can't get through til Friday. I really need to get through to them to clarify what it is we are supposed to do.......
