Here's a question for my fellow yardies:

Are there 2 police records in Jamaica, one for local and one for overseas? Marlon said that he will need to get the overseas one again as it is only valid for 6 months but the local one is good for 1 year?

His mom may have his immunization record so he may not need shots!

Thanks for the congrats.....Baby is due October 24th. I don't know if hubby will be here by then, but at least I know he will be here before Christmas...at the latest. It's so hard not knowing which is why I sent the expedite. If they could just tell me something or give me an estimate then I would be ok...but I am not patient and I don't like the idea of waiting, so that whole part of this process has been driving me crazy. But hopefully things will go ok and maybe my hubby will be here when the baby is born. I am actually more excited about seeing his face during the childbirth process because he gets disgusted about the slightest things (his own snot) and its hilariously funny. So even if he doesn't make it by then, he will get his share of nasty, stinky, smelly, brown/orange/green/yellow, poop diapers and thats surely something I can look forward to. He claims he can handle it...so we will see. I will keep you updated.

Congrats Miss Jones!! :dance::dance:

Just spoke to my fiance and he was approved.

Congrats  Told you he'd be fine!

Thanks, Rhonda. I'm glad it's over. Now the wait for the visa. That's not as stressful, though.

Congrats - did you ever get a chance to ask him, what questions they asked him, not sure if some else asked this before

Thanks. Yes, we talked about it last night. I wish I had been there because I would have better information. He said that the interview was relatively simple. He saw three different people who collected different parts of the packet from him. He said that the final person was a man that asked him things like how we met, when we met in person, when we decided to get married, how many children I have and their names, my name and address (he said he had to write it a few times), what type of work I do, and how many people we planned to invite to the wedding. At the end, the man told him to enjoy his stay in the US, gave him a paper and sent him to another window where he picked up the pink paper.

As I said, if I'd been there, I'd have better information to report.

Sounds like the same guy we had. As I recall there weren't many men interviewing people at part C!! The guy is really cool!!

Do you think there is long term psychological effects of smoking ganja?

Do I? I was married to a bud head for years, and from my personal experience and opinion, it exerbates amotivation and paranoia. I say this because the X was most likely lazy to begin with but the  ganja made it worse.

But do you think those effects or some form of effect lasted for months even years after they stopped using ganja (if they stopped)?

No my girlfriend recieved 4.0 is college and high school and started smoking up when she was 14 and she stopped at 26. She is still smart as can be and it kills me how she can crank out papers with bs 4 hours before her next class.

I have not been on in ages but I logged on and read what was going on.

Time flies when you're having fun! Henry and I just moved into OUR FIRST HOUSE last week, home owners at last! :star:

Hey Darah!

We have both been seriously MIA! Congrats on the house!! That is great news! Glad to hear you and Henry are doing well!

Both of your husbands are named Henry? :D

I am just happy their names don't end in TON. My cousins in London teased me when they heard I was marrying a Yardie - they said all Jamaican guys names end in TON (pronounced TAN) - Dexton, Glenton, Lenton, Barrington, Cherrington, Carrington  ... so to see Tony, Roy, Henry, Dave, Andre and the likes was a relief.

Hi Elizabeth good to see you again. Out of the hundreds of students I taught the only tons names I had was Carlington and Vinton.

Andre's sibs are all named after hollywood - Raquel, Wayne, Elvis :P and Dwayne. Don't even get me started on how confusing it is to have a Wayne and Dwayne in the same immediate family

Honestly, I don't know, I just assume it would.

I assume it would as well...

My mom, I have aunts, cousins, uncles, who smoke it....they seem normal

I know many ppl that smoke and they seem normal as well. Honestly in my opinion, I think smoking and acting out is just a state of mind. I could be wrong but I occasionally smoke and I never act the way I see others do.
