I started my masters when I was pregnant with my son. It was hard going back, because my school only offered classes at night, but i did it. with no family help. (my family lives in MA) I ended up withdrawing from classes a few times and taking them over, but it all worked out. I have one more class to go. I would get comments like your still in school but it was all good, because when I got my current job, all I heard was how did you do that. Juggling school, work and a child is hard but very much worth it in the end.

Belwin - are you going to have kids while your husband is in school?

I told hubby about the whole blueslip thing last night. I think I will have the hospital give me a birth letter and send that down to him, so they see I have a valid reason for not being there, just to be on the safe side.

I think calling is a very good idea or at least a good start and agree that a lawyer is a waste of time.

Aliengirl - If I could keep the kids and cut off the grandmother all would be good, when i was speaking to her on saturday, she was trying to convience me that her and her 9yr old grandaughter wore the same size in shoes. I bought the little girl I size 3 1/2 size sneaker in January and all of sudden she's wearing a size 6? and I was there a month ago and the little girl was wearing size 3 shoes I bought her last summer so in a month a foot grew three sizes? Makes you wonder who the shoes are really for.

I found it interesting because I did send in an expedite request first my mail. And then I called to find that I should have faxed the request instead of mailing. So I faxed it and I included pictures of my ultrasound. (In the letter I told them that if there is a possibility that my hubby will not be here for the birth of our baby then they should let me know so that I can pack my things, cancel my petition and move back to JA to be with my hubby because I am not pushing this baby out alone.) So they sent me a letter saying that they denied my expedite. And then a week later they approved my I-130. So I don't know how that worked out, but besides, who could say no to our precious baby girl ultrasound pictures.....

But I am so happy I think I am going to pee on myself (actually between me and you....um.... ) I just wanted to share my excitement with everyone. And let you know that even though I have not posted, I occasionally stop by and read whats going on. I hope all is well and I hope that everyone is doing ok. I will try to post when I can...but for now I am going to get some pickles and some cherry amaretto cheesecake icecream to celebrate.

Thanks for the congrats.....Baby is due October 24th. I don't know if hubby will be here by then, but at least I know he will be here before Christmas...at the latest. It's so hard not knowing which is why I sent the expedite. If they could just tell me something or give me an estimate then I would be ok...but I am not patient and I don't like the idea of waiting, so that whole part of this process has been driving me crazy. But hopefully things will go ok and maybe my hubby will be here when the baby is born. I am actually more excited about seeing his face during the childbirth process because he gets disgusted about the slightest things (his own snot) and its hilariously funny. So even if he doesn't make it by then, he will get his share of nasty, stinky, smelly, brown/orange/green/yellow, poop diapers and thats surely something I can look forward to. He claims he can handle it...so we will see. I will keep you updated.

I also agree. I went to a business college and was able to get my BBA in 3 yrs. It was tuff esp in the beginning w/me me working full time, going to school full time (nights) and spending time w/my daughter so I decided to go for my Associates first. During my first year everything was great until I started having child care issues. It was hard but I was determine to finish because I knew in the long run it was worth everything struggle I had to endure. Fortunately I was able to send my daughter to JA to stay w/family until I was able to finish school. I missed her daily and took a lot of ####### from some ppl in my family but I was determine no MATTER WHAT b/c I was tired of living on min wage. Honestly, I think it was the best decision I ever made (going back to college) and for those who used to chat me........well let's just say they're haters  Jamie I say go for it, yes it will be hard but it's worth every minute of it. Trust me!!!!

Mi too, I have an ADN (nursing), working on a BSN, dreaming of a Masters, I have always worked fulltime, even more while attending school and raising a family, it is hard work!!! I make too much money now for grants, so student loans is what it is, for now. I too will....am  in debt because of the loans :help: . I know this is the best descision for me as well, when I'm finished and near the top all those who said I couldn't mak it can chat to mi back!!

i still haven't found out what is on the 221g yet but he said the interviewer asked him how old my son was and he knew, and when my son's birthday was and he knew, and my birthday and he knew, and then they asked him when i got married to my ex husband...and he didn't know....and that is when they got difficult with him and called him a liar and that he didn't really know me and then pulled out a receipt from the hotel we stayed at the last time i was there and asked who paid for it and called him a liar again and then said when your fiance comes here, we will issue the visa and gave him the blue slip...

i am going to call the embassy....anyone know the best number and the time/day to call????

The nerve of these people.

JLVR - Congrats

Finesse - check your PM.

They will try anything to trap you. I wonder if my husband would have been approved if I wasn't there...the questions were confusing. You HAVE to patience during this entire visa process - keep a positive at all times. This is just the beginning. Our AOS interview was much harder than our interview at Kingston...and we were already married and living together as husband and wife.

Ditto, Call in sick  do what ever you have to do to get down there. It's unfortunate but they just want to play hard ball, don't let your husband's..to be :D visa be the next one sold to someone else for the right price.

5 - Save up/beg/borrow and steal money to get down there and show up at the interview. I know that you want him here asap but you don't have to get there in any timeframe. If it took you a couple of months to get a quick trip together that is definitely a possibility...while it doesn't sound good now it is an option.

Those are just some ideas off the top of my head…not sure what you are wanting to do or what you are comfortable doing…
