I mean really you are to fly down just to answer a few questions, I hope they have a valid reason. I would complain my butt off the reason is frivolous

Kingston is a high fraud Embassy so they give people a hard time...in most cases. The vets on here always recommended the US citizen to be present during the interview. It's the best proof of a relationship.

Please remember that the Embassy does not have to issue a visa....trust me, I read crazy stories everyday...some couples will ever live in the same country. Luckily, no one has been on this thread has been denied yet...except for ganga use. Count your blessings.

Yeah, there is that. :( In all of this, I guess we forget that there can just be a denial for whatever reason. That's what I've been afraid of for weeks.

]

JLVR - I'm sure everything will work out for you. We'll keep praying.

I so don't think I would be an asset to hubby, I can't tolerate stupid people and they might want to ask a super intrusive/stupid question and it would go downhill from there.

the sad thing about Kingston is that there is fraud going on, on both sides of the fence

Only few people on here had "tough" interviews. Most of us had "okay" interviews...some consular officers were even nice.

There's no doubt the fraud is on both sides but it's still a high fraud Embassy mainly because of overstays of visitors visas and deportations of Jamaicans here in the States. They made the process harder for the legit ones....

jlvr, my man called at 10 this morning...he is in the same time zone as me though and didn't have to travel home to call me..

i still haven't found out what is on the 221g yet but he said the interviewer asked him how old my son was and he knew, and when my son's birthday was and he knew, and my birthday and he knew, and then they asked him when i got married to my ex husband...and he didn't know....and that is when they got difficult with him and called him a liar and that he didn't really know me and then pulled out a receipt from the hotel we stayed at the last time i was there and asked who paid for it and called him a liar again and then said when your fiance comes here, we will issue the visa and gave him the blue slip...

i am going to call the embassy....anyone know the best number and the time/day to call????

that is true, but I keep hearing about people buying there visas. My son's father wants to bring his older son here for the summer but said he couldn't afford the visa from Kingston

Just spoke to my fiance and he was approved. I was calling because I was going to leave him a message and he picked up. I could kill him, he's had his phone since about noon but he didn't have any credits to call. He got pink slipped and everything.

On one hand I feel great, but it's not so great because I'm feeling for finesse.

I'm hoping, wishing, praying for good things, finesse. Let us know what the reason is when you find out so that I can be praying for the right thing.

yes, it will be very very extremely difficult for me to get down there...i have 2 jobs, a 10 year old son, and a dog, and no vacation left from work...

does anyone think calling my congresswoman will do any good?......this all seems kind of ridiculous. the medical was good, the paperwork was good.....and i have to fly down there cuz he didn't know when i got married to my first husband which was like 10 years ago???? i had to think hard about when it was i got married..

Oh, that sounds terrible and unneccessary. :( I'm glad you're calling the embassy. I think you should call your elected officials, too.

dang finesse! they were harsh!

i keep praying that once an interview date is set, that it'll be for the first part of august. i go back to school on the 14th, and i'm sure that the director of human resources won't allow me to take a leave of absence in spite of the circumstances. i've already asked for a leave of absence once and he denied it saying that i should schedule it during spring break or christmas. i was so fired up.

jlvr i'm thinking about ya!

JLVR - Congrats :dance:

Finesse - check your PM.

They will try anything to trap you. I wonder if my husband would have been approved if I wasn't there...the questions were confusing. You HAVE to patience during this entire visa process - keep a positive at all times. This is just the beginning. Our AOS interview was much harder than our interview at Kingston...and we were already married and living together as husband and wife.

Congrats Jlvr!!! :dance::dance::dance:

Finesse - Girl, I would definitely call your congressman and whoever else you can think of! That is ridiculous that they want you to be there! I too work 2 jobs and I can't go back to Jamaica for a long time! Get tough, hang in there as I KNOW you WILL get through this! *HUGE HUG*

Now a question:

I am moving into a different apartment next week, who do I contact to change my address? :blink:
