Girls -- make sure they know how to write and spell YOUR complete name

Thanks Mindy, FutureMrs and kimmy. Mindy, it's good to see you. And we worked on that, so it should be okay. As I was going over things with him I was thinking that there are so many things, it will be the one thing that we didn't go over that they will ask him. :(

finesse's fiance should be going in any minute, if he's not in already. Sending good vibes his way. (F)(L)(F)

Rhonda, will your job still have you working nights when they know that you're pregnant?

Thanks, everyone, for your thoughts. Just keep us in them for a little while longer... (L)

So, i am having an issue..my mother-in-law who left Ja when my husband was 11yrs old..She went back 4 yrs ago bury my brother-in-law...now with him coming she keeps saying how she hopes he doen't come and distance himself from her, as if he doesn't have a family..it is really ticking me off. I mean we get along fine except when she starts talking #######. What do u guys think ? She keeps talking of scenarios w/o out me in it...u think she doen't this purposely or unconsciously...it irritates me...

It's her guilt talking....because now he's coming thru u, and he might feel resentful towards her for not sending for him a long time ago.

Yea I agree. You mention she went down 4 yrs ago. Do you know why she hasn't been back? That could play a big part in that as well.

She hasn't been back she say b/c she has to have money..and what ppl r going to think and all this #######..but i'm mad b/c of ALL the sacrifices I had to make for her to expect him to "cater" to her is a little unrealistic

From my own experiences, it will be a constant struggle for you. One year later and my MIL still drives me to drink from time to time. Luckily, Andre and I are in complete agreement on this issue, so we just don't answer the phone most times she calls.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

I'm feeling pretty good. I just talked to my mans auntie and she is waiting outside for him. He has been in there for more than an hour and a half so I hope that is a good sign....

Still waiting. He'd have been there an hour by now. But he didn't take his phone because he can't take it inside, he has to go back home before I'll hear anything. My phone just rang (it wasn't him) and it scared the ####### out of me. Now my stomach is all nervous. I'm going to be jumpy every time the phone rings. And coffee probably isn't helping.

Wish we knew you, finesse, that way he could borrow your fiance's phone. :(

I know Jomo's girl...but I laid it out on the table to him and he also agrees. i just think she's going to make him feel so guilty from time to time

It's kinda opposite for me. My future mother in law likes to talk with me more than her own son. She calls me all the time.

That is probably the understatement of all time. She will play him masterfully. Andre's mom uses his love and concern for his little brothers, sisters, and orphaned nieces and nephews to try and turn the screws all the time. There just comes a time when you have to say there is no money tree growing in the back yard, we are not wealthy like you think and we are struggling at this point, and if and when we can help you, we will. What you really want to do is scream into the phone that all this calling and asking is really making it worse and not helping their cause at all.

Have you had issues with any of his friends yet? We've gotten calls to send anything from $20-$200 to help with food, a cell phone, buying a car, and plane tickets.

The only thing these people have accomplished is making our LD phone bill dissappear....not only do we not answer the phone, we don't make many LD calls anymore.

Amen!!!

When Andre first got here we would send money back to his grandma (the one that raised him) she never asked. NEVER. I don't mind helping her out and sending her funds, she is fantastic and she really could use that help as she is older and her husband passed away in 2005. His mom who he didn't have a lot of contact with and has just come back into the picture recently was ALWAYS calling asking for money for this and that. Used the guilt trips and telling us how they were going hungry...umm if that is the case then cut the cable, sell that nice new fridge and big screen tv, sell the stereo and the hundreds of cd's...I mean seriously if you were really in that big of a bind you wouldn't be buying up all that stuff. Call me when things are really bad...not when you just think that we have tons of money so we should be sharing. I just about lost it last year when she informed Andre that "his half of the cost of the house SHE was buying in JA for herself would be 2.8 million $JA, because you know you have to take care of and honor your mum" I don't think so

Girl u know it...he is just to kind..but he's see when he gets here that nothing is free, if u don't pay the bill it gets cut off. And what upsets me is she would call me sometimes to ask me "a wah mi do u mek u no call mi" I'm like lady i have a life...but I am ready for her games...
