Destiny - thanks a lot, his mother was going to go the clinic where he grew up and get his card, so I will tell him to go ahead with that. The medical center justs wants the additional money, that's all

Thats for sure....I am in the same dilema..I was just gonna have hi mgo to the medical exam and pay for there..even though I knew it would be more. My husband does not have ANY record of his shots at all. the most shots he can possibly get is about 3 I'm thinking cause he's past the age for some. I think it's just the ones that u HAVE to get to enter the country. I think MMR, Rubella, Varicella(chickenpox) maybe something else. Correct me if I'm wrong

Ok so hubby called the medical center in Mo Bay today and he was told his doctor cannot give him any shots, but that is not true correct?? and she asked him if he had a blue paper which he doesn't. Was this blue paper in the same packet that the ds230 came in?

I was going to ask which doctor....his personal or the medical examination doctor. But, then I thought, WHY? Because both can give him shots. Not exactly clear what you are asking here.

If he has not had certain shots, he can go to a clinic or his personal doctor and get them done beforehand.

If he needs shots at the medical examination, they will then give them to him at considerably more cost.

They are telling him he can't go to his personal doctor.

you know there was someone else saying the same thing recently but i don't remember who it was. it may have been jlvr, since her interview is coming up. it was something along the lines of "it was not recommended for the beneficiary to get immunizations anywhere except at the medical". i'll do a search and see what i come up with.

The blue paper in the packet does say that.

My SO did not have any shot records and he got 4 shots.........the cost for the shots and the exam was $175 at andrews in kingston

Ending my journey

I would just like to say that I'm ending my Visa Journey, I don't think my fiance is ready for marriage, we have gone through a lot and I have tolerated a lot to get to this point, I have finally decided that it makes no sense to continue to relationship anymore and I'm officially ending my Journey. Thanks for all you answers and personal messages.

I'm sorry to hear that. Only YOU know what is best though. Like others have said, even though it's painful, it's better that you realize things now rather than after you get married and continue on with this process. Hang in there (F)

Ditto all the best

Thank you everyone for your support and advice :luv: Tony got home last night and I did miss him even though he's being a total butthead! We didn't talk about IT because I had to leave for work. Hopefully we can talk this weekend. Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Rhonda!!!!!!!!!! Oh my gosh, I really need to stick around to keep an eye on you, big belly lady!! :P

CONGRATULATIONS!! :luv: I know 'things aren't 100%" (Henry's favorite way of describing life's little ups and downs), but I agree with Jonesie, stay in prayer. For the believer there is no better resource. Make prayer your first resource and not your last resort.

I had no idea how much work marriage is, blending two, three cultures, etc.... but thanks to God, a praying mom and a praying husband, we are getting better each day. I don't yell any more.:innocent:

I am so happy for you and for this baby. I pray God will speak to Tony's heart and that God will resolve the situation. I have seen God shut inappropriate doors faster than the eye can blink and open ones that no one dreamed could ever open...so....don't give up.

Hi Elizabeth it is good to hear that you are doing well.

Rhonda hang in there!!!

My husband said he had to get all his shots done at Mo Bay Hope Medicals hospital. They wouldn't except anything else. He also said that the blue paper is a little strip of paper stapled to the top of the packet with medical info on it saying not to go anywhere else for the shots. It comes in the DS230 packet with the interview letter.

The representative at the Embassy was so rude. She made me feel like I was bothering her. I know my questions weren't that far from what she normally hears. Anyways, I made her answer or at least attempt to answer my questions.

Ugh, I was supposed to call the embassy today and I forgot, all hubby got was the interview letter, nothing at all about the medical and no blue paper. I was supposed to call and have them resend the ds-230 packet. This is the same packet that when I asked at the embassy, the lady told me the only one piece of paper in the ds-230 packet and that was the ds-230.

she didn't say anything about any medical forms or checklist being in there, thank god for this website

This whole thing about the shots is so weird. My fiance didn't have any records so he had to get all of the shots. He went to the Tangerine Place doctor and paid about $100. He didn't try to go to another doctor for the shots, so I don't know about that but he didn't mention a blue slip saying not to go to another doctor.

kimmy - all he got was the letter telling him about the appointment date. I asked him if that was all and he said yes.. He made the medical appointment from last week, because I knew about the place in Mo Bay from VJ

before i went to JA last month, I asked the embassy if there was anything else in the packet that the ds-230 came in and she said no. So from that response I thought the interview checklist and medical info would come with the interview letter.

When he called the medical office in Mo Bay today to ask if he could bring his immuninization card, the receptionist told him to read the blue paper and he's like what blue paper.

then they wonder why before they even pick up the phone you have an attitude!!!

this is just nuts! with all the different things we're hearing it's no wonder we're all confused. it seems like you can ask the embassy the same question and get 2 different answers.

i wonder what would the consequeces be if our SO's got shots with their family doctors instead of at the medical. jomo's girl did that without any problems, but this was pre-embassy relocation and ever since then everything's been helter-skelter.

exactly how much money would we be saving by going to a clinic instead of the medical exam?

So mi seh too...but what i think is the real reason fi do the shots at the medical exam is that u may need more than what u got at ur private doctor..and may end up cost..bwoy I don't know ..mi just ago have him go do it mi a go tyry get one for Tangerine Place
