I loved Royal Decameron in Mobay. I also stayed in a really inexpensive hotel when I got stranded for 3 additional days by a hurricane, it was called the Big Apple . Its a family owned hotel and you have to get a taxi to go into town but the view from the hillside was beautiful. It was 69.00 dollars a night. I have the number at home. No gym or any frills just nice and clean with bootleg cable in very room :lol: .

We tried to stay at the Big Apple that night we ended up in that nasty hotel. It was the night of our engagement and we wanted some privacy away from the family. The Big Apple was full. It looked very nice.

To the girl who asked.........did you want more suggestions then just MoBay? Someone else mentioned Negril. I'm sure we could come up with many more recommendations for you. I thought you just wanted MoBay.

My fiance know too many people in Negril. We always end up meeting up with some of his friends there. He wants us to be alone..away from family and friends. So, I'm thinking Mobay or Runaway Bay or Ocho Rios area. I've stayed at Rose Hall Resort in Rose Hall (near Mo bay) and it was nice..but they are going through construction over the summer and ZERO rooms are available for my time period.

When are you going to JA?

Hey everyone!

Rhonda - stay in prayer. Hubby is thinking of the $ that will provide a better life for you and the baby, and he figures that if you two made it thru immigration being in diff. countries, then him being a few states away should be a breeze. I know you don't agree with it (and if I were in your shoes I wouldn't either) but if he is set on it then sit down with him and work out a plan that includes some compromising (L)

SJB - girl I would kill for that job! I need to get in and start working for Babylon

Port Antonio is gorgeous...cannot wait to go back when we go to JA. And hands down Boston Bay has some of the best jerk I've had in Jamaica. San San is a nice local beach, and there are reasonable hotel rates in the area.

Club Ambience in Runnaway Bay was really nice and reasonable for all inclusive. But Runnaway Bay is not near anything. There is a  strip club across the street with one stripper :no: . Girl she would never make it in Atlanta evry man in the club was sleep. . It only cost us $10 us to go to Ochi and if you are real adventurous you clould ride the public bus :o and fear for your life.

my fiance has never had cable, and when we stay together in a hotel the tv is constantly on. his addiction: sports (specifically soccer & cricket).

Neil didn't have cable either, they only got on channel in yard JTV  He didn't watch much tv. The few times we stayed in a hotel it was music vidoes, music vidoes and more music vidoes  Oh and how did I forget to soccer and cricket

One more thing.... Is channel surfing a man thing??? Or is it just my mans thing?

A man thing, we can't one channel it's just not possible, men won't watch if the action stops or is paused and we aren't really interested in every last detail of anything on TV except sports. Maybe I should speak for myself

You ladies crack me up! I am debating on getting cable or satellite when Marlon gets here but after reading some of the horror stories here I dunno! lol I do know that Marlon is big time into horror and action films and I too have fallen asleep during them! I am more of the romantic comedy/comedy/sci-fi type.

Rhonda: I am so sorry to hear that Tony is soooo pigheaded! You WILL talk him out of it and ALL will work out! Hang in there as you are a strong and smart woman!

My fiance complained so much about my 13 inch tv that I finally updated to a flat screen 20 inch. It was a deal I could not refuse...So now he wants me to throw away a perfectly working 13 inch tv saying that it is too small and a piece of junk. That TV got me through college. Also, I got Direct TV so that I can watch shows with him....via telephone....and we crack up laughing together. I miss him.

Has anyone stayed at Rooms on the Beach in Ocho Rios/Runaway Bay? The are having a great deal $94 a night...but it seems a little suspect.

If not, what a nice place either Montego Bay or Ocho area to stay?

Whenever my fiance and I wanted to get away from family and friends we would go to MoBay and stay at Toby's Resort...it's pretty cool...decent, clean, safe, quiet, decent food, and cable channels...I enjoyed staying there each time I went (and the staff are nice too)...In Ochi, my friends and I stayed at the Crane Ridge Resort once (back in Oct '05)...it was nice, plus it has a kitchenette, nice pool and pool bar (but you have to keep bugging the staff about towels)...other than that, it was cool too....

I have cable now but I'm considering satellite because it seems to offer more channels for the same that I'm paying now. I'm not going to change anything until my fiance gets here, so I'll have to see what's available at that time. I'll definitely have to have something, he watches plenty of TV. I hardly watch TV, so it doesn't matter to me.

kimmy, my fiance did his medical at Tangerine Place. I'm really nervous about the interview, keep trying to think of anything that I may have missed as far as documentation. I'm not going to be happy again until I get the phone call from him afterward.

I know...u wanna post what u have..for a run thru ?

They are in Negril but really nice ppl - met them when I was living in JA. They are on my list of photographers to use when we renew vows in JA

http://sungoldphotojamaica.com/ and they travel for a nominal fee

Also try http://www.tropicalweddingsjamaica.com/ they are located in Ochi

Have a great month in JA

 been to a few of the clubs in Negril and one thing I can say is that the owners were definitely equal opportunity employers  every body type, age, nationality, etc. you could think of was in there. The music was good but since I don't swing that way I was bored...extremely bored.
