Do you guys find it a challenge when you take your hubby out to eat at a Restaurant that does not serve Caribbean food?

Two words......CHICKEN NUGGETS

I just got an e:mail -- Capleton is coming to the House of Blues on Friday, 6/15. Tickets go on sale tomorrow.
Thanks Mindy Dwain said no he really doesn't like that artist. Are you and Roy going to go?

I haven't told him yet -- I'm sure he will probably want to go -- I'm not too keen on him.....Roy laughs 'cause I can't ever understand one word he is saying/singing  I think I might hold out for Richie Spice.....we saw Beenie Man last year and that was a lot of fun!!

Have fun at the concert. I saw Etta James on the list and I love her song "AT Last" we probably won't got to that either. Hubby will say how much does that cost we can't afford it. That is what he what he said about Capleton and then said he disliked him. Is Richie Spice coming here?

Met Jan 1998, vows on 2006, Jay Jay born 2008, baby 2 - 2011

Go ahead -- hate me -- I don't care!!! When I met Roy (three years ago) --

I cannot change how some people feel. I just wish that the "newbies" knew ALL the women who used to frequent this forum -- who WE have not heard from in MONTHS -- SOME YEARS.....why? Their relationships don't exist anymore. Those are the "tales" you all really need to hear.

Maybe they just got on with their marriage, and decided they didn't need any more help from VJ.

Or maybe their relationship did end and they just got over it and moved on with their lives, and decided they didn't need any help from VJ.

I've tried to be open minded about the food. I even tasted a piece of deer meat. Yuck! But to be honest, I am worried about being in the USA and changing from my relatively healthy diet of fish, chicken and greens to all the cholesterol-laden foods and becoming over-weight and more prone to things like heart disease.

I'm sorry, but a big old slab of medium rare, blood-oozing steak on my plate with eggs for breakfast on a sunday morning is a bit too much. Jay's feelings were hurt but in the end he understood. I miss my callaloo and saltfish with plantain (and or porridge) on a sunday morning.

Damien gained a lot of weight his first six months here. It was hard to sit home with nothing to do but eat and watch TV. I got him hooked on fast food when he start got here...that was a terrible habit of mine. We're making healthier choices now...besides the festival and ice cream we ate last weekend  . We also go to the gym together.

I'm not a great cook so I don't attempt to cook Jamaican food. I would like him to cook more and teach me.

He won't touch any American breakfast food.

Evan can't wait for my "American" cooking to fatten him up. His adoptive family was American and he loved the cooking vs. Jamaican food. He say Jamaican food is ladden with grease and un healthy. I wonder what kind of American food he grew up eating.

A lot of us have formed friendships and keep in touch outside of VJ. I think that is kind of what was being talked about. I know that I keep in touch with a lot of "veterans" that don't come to VJ anymore for various reasons.

Meaning that when others on here have talked about failed relationships and "vets" that have separated from their spouses they are talking about specific people and specific marriages...not just a blanket assumption or generalization.

Where's my manners.

Happy Easter to all. May you enjoy the bun and chesse, ackee and bammy in all thier glory. May this day be as meaningful for you as your Jamaican hubby because when Thanksgiving comes , they are going to be just as excited for you. And if your hubby does not realize that there is no Easter Monday and Tuesday here in the US, just think of it as the day after Thanksgiving and make him/her bun and cheese again and send them off to work.

Happy Easter to you and yours. In case I forget, Happy Easter Monday and Happy Easter Tuesday!!!!

There is no Easter Tuesday

its Good Friday Ressurection Sunday and Easter Monday

In Trinidad which I never knew until Trinilad posted.

WE ARE DONE!!!

Well....he will be in the States really soon (if he's not already here) -- SJB said he is coming to the DC area the middle of this month.....I have my fingers crossed for Chicago. I keep checking "his" website and there is nothing.....Maybe he will just show up at my house!!!:lol:

I agree with what Jamie said -- a lot of them did get on with their lives -- I think the point "we" were trying to get across was that "we" wish they would come back to VJ and tell their stories. Some of those stories might help someone....someday. Not saying you or anyone in particular......but I don't think it's anyones business to air someone else(s) "dirty laundry" on an open forum. On the other hand -- there are plenty of the "veterans" who's realtionships are going just fine and they don't need the support of VJ right now. That is true....

A lot of us have made very good friends here on VJ -- and we do keep in close contact with people some of the "newbies" never even heard of.

Me personally -- I can only hope all of you are able to make as good of friends as I have here on VJ. Their support and love is amazing (F)

That is great. I see them having kids next

Question about the interview??????????????????????

Do they talk to you through a window and does your evidence have to be small enough to slide through?

Just wondering if I should put my pictures in an envelope or bring the two big photo albums.

Thanks everyone.
