Know I need to go look up places for him to get his hair done. I have no clue about braid cornrolls. We have talked about the shaving thing. We will see what he does with that. Maybe we should invest in a razor. hmmm

:lol: They're cornrows silly!! LMAO at cornrolls  We had the same problem when Tony came here. All the salons/hair places were charging a fortune to braid - and he's used to getting it done EVERY week! So we spent a small fortune to get them done for our wedding then he had me shave his entire head :o It actually looked good bald!! He was telling everyone he pissed me off so I shaved his head in his sleep! It's all grown back now and we found a friend of a friend who braids on the side - she just does it at her house. We've actually found a few of those around - start asking around now, it may take awhile. I think he pays $20 - which is still high considering in JA he only had to pay $5!!

Thanks Rhonda. I had a lady who lived down the street braid my hair once in high school maybe she is still there. I went to school with her son. I still see him around so I will look them up. There has to be something cheap in a college town. He said he never wants to cut his hair again and these corn rolls are new. He just started them at our wedding.

Went to my interview this morning at 8am.

Could hardly sleep last night.

But I was APPROVED

Congrats

I was reading that the fees increase goes into effect on July 30. If you are going to be filing soon get them in before July 30

No use stressing and worrying about the cost of everything as you HAVE to pay it but if you can get it in at the lower price why not?

Sonshyne.....how are things going with you guys?

It's truly an adjustment process  But things are going ok  We went to a reggae pool party over the weekend, and I think that was the best thing since slice bread for him.. He came across a couple people that he knew from home, one in particular that lived 15 mins from him in JA. Now they live 10 mins apart here. I'm so glad they came across one another I'm sure this will help Neil with the adjustment to his new life.

Congrats on Mike receiving his EAD card :thumbs:

I have a question.... I am wondering if I have a confidential wedding will it make a difference when I go to AOS?? Will they see it as a problem because it isn't public record?? I only plan to keep it that way until we have a religious wedding which will be in October.

Although you can have a small private ceremony- you have to get a marriage license and have it publicly recorded after the ceremony in order for the marriage to be valid.

Thanks

Hello All! Hope everyone had a good weekend!

I was reading that the fees increase goes into effect on July 30. I know that some of the vets are going to be applying to remove conditions soon and just wanted to give them a heads up that if they can file before then to do it because the fee goes from $275 to $545 :help: So if you can get it in before July 30 that would be a good break for you. That goes for all the other processes and forms as well. If you are going to be filing soon get them in before July 30

No use stressing and worrying about the cost of everything as you HAVE to pay it but if you can get it in at the lower price why not?

Fee Increase

Oh great! and my wedding is 3 weeks after this! There are always trials and tribulations in our relationship. I guess we're gonna have to turn this one into another testimony.

I don't think anyone knows for sure when the fee increases will go into effect. It will post on the USCIS website. Just try to submit your petition as soon as you can.

I pay $45 (wash, press, & braid) every 10 days for my daughter b/c she has coarse hair. Most shops by my house charge $35/40 for children & $55 for adults. For men I think it's cheaper. Try the local hair salons or African Braiding shops.

Went to my interview this morning at 8am.

I really am, it's like everything has just gone SO smoothly for us, it's been only 4 months to a day or two since we filed...I keep thinking a spanner is going to appear in the works from somewhere, it's like it's too good to be true.....But every day I give thanks for the smooth run we've had.....Now, if I can just fast forward to getting this baby delivered
