Ok, how do I do a search..just when I thought everything was calm  I filed Head of household

For IRS purposes you are ok w/filing HOH. I was told I could either file that or married filing jointly. I chose to do the MFJ b/c it had a bigger refund & of course another proof of relationship..

I tried doing a search for you but wasn't very successful. I'm still learning that option.

Oh ok,,thank God  thanks Nyseness..I was trying to search as well but I was doing it by going back into the pages  I hope there is a easier way

Oh wow Anna I didn't know that. My tax guy said it was a must. Darn I could of got my refund already but I guess it will be bigger then.

Actually Jax you wouldn't be able to file HOH b/c you don't have any dependents. It's for indivisuals who can claim other dependents besides the spouse. I'm also wondering how could your tax guy submit the W-7 w/o a filed tax return? The instructions said the application will get rejected w/o one. Don't feel bad I still have to wait for the actual refund. The IRS told me if I don't recv something in the mail w/in two wks then E-file my federal return so it will speed up my refund. I'm still debating that one b/c I dont' want to go thru the hassle of mailing it to Javon for his signature. We'll see.

I dont know he did everything. He made me get the form notarized and signed and back to him. He sent off the day taxes were due and filled an extension for me. So I am hopping I recieve some money for Dwain. This will help put him through college this fall.

I am soooo happy!!!! I just got off the phone w/IRS and they FINALLY processed Javon's ITIN application. I had to three-way him in for them to give us the #, now I can file my state tax returns. I couldn't have asked for a better time since funds were getting tight w/me moving and all.

Congrats Anna :dance::thumbs:

Can you send some good vibes my way :)! I haven't heard anything about Dwain's ITIN application yet. Maybe we should call when he gets here next week. We really need the funds too. Or we will soon sink.

Now, what is the ITIN # and when do you apply for it ?

I only need to file this if he is working correct? If he is not working after our marriage do i still have to get an ITIN number?

ITIN number is a number for our husbands. We were told that we needed to file seperate or jointly even if our husbands didn't live in this country yet. Anna and I got married last year in 06 so we had to file for an ITIN number. This is because our husbands dont have a soc number to apply yet. It can take from 4 to 6 weeks to get a number. I hope this sounds right.

So if you got married this year 07 and your husband won't be here until 08 you need to apply for in ITIN number for the 2007 taxes.

Let me see if I can find the link.

Yes they take one at the interview. We only have one left. That we need to use for my new soc card and passport.

I would apply for the CR1 visa with the copy your minster gives you that day of your marriage. Photocopy it and send it in. That saved us a good 3 months on waiting for the marriage licenses.

the size how much it will cost. He usualy recieved the mail in 5 days.

Jax I spoke to a couple of other ppl and both recv'd a RFE for not having the original marriage cert. I think it just depends on the IMO but I wouldn't risk it.

I've been wondering about this. I guess i can send the copy in after the wedding and if I get an RFE I'll send in the expedited original copy. Either way I don't lose any time.

Then I wonder why I didn't get an RFE for that? It still would of saved me time if I got an RFE because we had to wait three months. The congressman said it was fine. I think it doesn't hurt to try.

I think it's b/c you had the "hook up". Your congressman was able to stamp your petition and I know for a fact congressional services are normally priority over everyone else. Also if she's in JA it shouldnt' take that long to get the marriage cert. It only took us 2 wks but took him to some time to send it to me.

Nysness, did you expedite your certificate to get it in 2 weeks or did you just go the normal route? i will be in JA for 4 weeks after my wedding, so if we can save money by having it sent to the JA address and still get it in 2 weeks I'd do that.

I recv'd the the NOA2 in the mail yesterday and told him last night. He was sooo happy and asked if this is for real. It wasn't that hard keeping it from him b/c deep down I also had some doubt.

I have a minor rant...just when I thought we were completely done with visa #######...I found out that my husband needs another. We were planning on spending 3 weeks trekking across Europe at the end of the summer. We were going to start in London - come to find out, he needs a visa to enter the UK. Not only that, but it costs $132. I haven't looked into the other countries that we wanted to visit, but i'm sure we'll have to apply for a separate visa for each country. That will significantly add to the cost of what is already an expensive tour.

Dammit, I feel like this damn immigration business is a burden that I'd rather not deal with. AARRRRRGH!!!

~rant over~

Sorry to hear :(

Once he's eligible for citizenship have him file ASAP, that way no extra charges...

Depending on which countries in Europe you are going to, you can apply for a Schengen visa, that covers 15 of the 25 all for one price rather than having to apply seperately....Here's a link

Mine as well, it's unfornunate, cause hubby would not even call his mother on mothers day, not even on a day to day basis to check to see how's doing, says it too depressing because no matter how much money he sends it's not enough. He sent money to his father because he knew he woudn't blow it instead used it in the household to help them both, his mother was upset cause she felt like the money should have gone to her. Supposed ly called all the family talking all theis stuff about hose he'smaking all this money and not taking care of her  I want to say where was she when he was walking around bare footed cause he didn't even have shoes to put on his feet :blush:This lady has a lot of guilt about giving him away when he was little. The two times I met her, she would cry cause she feels, or at least she told me that she was sorry for how she treated him when he was little, but when you talk to her it's a differnent story.

Males me mad to hear stories like this......Heard so many instances where the so called 'parent' treats the child so badly growing up and yet as soon as they go abroad they feel their son/daugher owes them something.....What is frustrating is that often even though the son/daughter recognises the bad treatment, they often still feel because their parent brought them into the world, they should help.

This is kind of how Andre feels. Although, you get enough phone calls and enough stress from said phone calls and eventually you just stop taking the calls at all.

I really feel for. If you knew any of the horror stories, you would wonder why the guy would think of her at all.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Just goes to show the calibre of man he is.....Takes a damn fine man to be able to look past that, even if it can be frustrating....

I found though, in my experience, not speaking to your parents is a cardinal sin in Jamaica.

Whereas here people will say they don't speak to their parents and it's no big deal, in Jamaica most times the reaction will be of amazement....

Today my grandma who is 86 fell and broke her arm and smashed her head while trying to get breakfast :( She has a few stitches and will be in a cast for 6+ weeks. It's so hard when they get older and their health decreases. All she wants to do is play bingo and reminisce with her old friends...why does life have to be so hard sometimes?

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that. :( I hope she recovers quickly and keeps her spirits up.

I was away for a little while and now I have pages and pages to read. This is as far as I've gotten so far. If I've missed any good events, congratulations and I'm sorry.

Just starting the journey, haven't yet filed... Until today(2/12/07)!
