That's hot!! Well good luck and I hope you have an easy pregnancy

Alright Paris :P

So Squitto how is the Mr. doing?

that chick stole my phrase...I'd been using it long before she popularized it, lol

He's okay...having a hard time on the job front. It's really frustrating for him. But otherwise he's doing well. Thanks for asking :)

Nyseness, have you got the hard copy of your NOA2 yet??

Did you crumble and tell Javon??

I recv'd the the NOA2 in the mail yesterday and told him last night. He was sooo happy and asked if this is for real. It wasn't that hard keeping it from him b/c deep down I also had some doubt.

I just read it again and I cant do that because I will not have LIVED there for 6 months. you were right. I cant do DCF there. that sure is a bummer! :)
Hey when I checked the USCIS website it had a link to DCF and a connection to the Kingston site and it said that they WERE doing DCF. I will look at it again and read it more carefully. But we were thinking that if that was the case then maybe we can get a start on it in the 6 weeks I am there following the wedding.

Any other tips would be GREATLY appreciated. I may have just misread the site. I will look at it again later! You guys are so helpful!!!

where did you guys get the wedding date tickers??:)

Hey everyone!! Such news!!

Okay

we have decided to forgo the K1 Visa and get married!!!

Now, I will be staying in JA for 6 weeks this summer (we are getting married then)

What is the FASTEST option? K3 or CR1?

I have looked at the comparison chart of the two but am kindof confused..

Can I do the CR1 since I dont live there technically? but we CAN file the papers there..

opinions please..

Thanks!!! Im so excited!!!!

Rosa

In the past many would say the K3 is faster but lately it just depends on the workload at the service centers. I think you have the CR1 confused w/the DCF. JA does not offer the DCF so you will need to submit the I-130 to the USCIS here in the states. First you need to submit the I-130 and by doing so you are applying for the CR1. IF you choose to pursue w/the K3 you need to submit the I-129f along w/the NOA1 from the I-130 packet along w/the current documents.

Once you get married makes sure the pastor requests at least two copies and have it expedited. It took 2 wks for Javon to recv both of them from the pastor. He's going to apply for two more originals b/c I read somewhere that the CO will take one at the Interview.

I have a minor rant...just when I thought we were completely done with visa #######...I found out that my husband needs another. We were planning on spending 3 weeks trekking across Europe at the end of the summer. We were going to start in London - come to find out, he needs a visa to enter the UK. Not only that, but it costs $132. I haven't looked into the other countries that we wanted to visit, but i'm sure we'll have to apply for a separate visa for each country. That will significantly add to the cost of what is already an expensive tour.

Dammit, I feel like this damn immigration business is a burden that I'd rather not deal with. AARRRRRGH!!!

WHATS THE CHEAPEST CARRIER YOU ALL USE TO SEND SOMETHING TO JAMAICA I MAIL A CARD TO MY FIANCEE LIKE THE FIRST OF THE MONTH AND HE STILL HAVE NOT GOTTEN IT

I sent everything AIRMAIL through the post office. Cost me 83 cents and it got there in exactly 8 days every time. I used to mail Andre a card a day. Still mail to his mother and "adopted" mother and still the same results.

Read Today's "Jamaican Gleaner". They had this very article in there today....how even high ranking officials who work for the Queen of England need a visa to visit on "official business".

Today my grandma who is 86 fell and broke her arm and smashed her head while trying to get breakfast :( She has a few stitches and will be in a cast for 6+ weeks. It's so hard when they get older and their health decreases. All she wants to do is play bingo and reminisce with her old friends...why does life have to be so hard sometimes?

:o I hope her recover is short. Did she live alone?

Almost my sentiments exactly. Andre's mom was not so kind to him growing up. In the U.S., the things she did and allowed to happen would constitute abuse and neglect. Now, she wants US to help take care of her and the brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews he left behind. While, we are trying to establish ourselves.....hell, I've been working 2 jobs for the last year and one half. I keep telling Andre to tell her once that money tree in our back yard starts sprouting, we'll get right on that.

Mine as well, it's unfornunate, cause hubby would not even call his mother on mothers day, not even on a day to day basis to check to see how's doing, says it too depressing because no matter how much money he sends it's not enough. He sent money to his father because he knew he woudn't blow it instead used it in the household to help them both, his mother was upset cause she felt like the money should have gone to her. Supposed ly called all the family talking all theis stuff about hose he'smaking all this money and not taking care of her  I want to say where was she when he was walking around bare footed cause he didn't even have shoes to put on his feet :blush:This lady has a lot of guilt about giving him away when he was little. The two times I met her, she would cry cause she feels, or at least she told me that she was sorry for how she treated him when he was little, but when you talk to her it's a differnent story.

WHATS THE CHEAPEST CARRIER YOU ALL USE TO SEND SOMETHING TO JAMAICA I MAIL A CARD TO MY FIANCEE LIKE THE FIRST OF THE MONTH AND HE STILL HAVE NOT GOTTEN IT

Cards...I've used UPS, and Federal express, but I would send things to his job, He would have it in two to three business days.

Can you send some good vibes my way :)! I haven't heard anything about Dwain's ITIN application yet. Maybe we should call when he gets here next week. We really need the funds too. Or we will soon sink.

Yes they take one at the interview. We only have one left. That we need to use for my new soc card and passport.

I would apply for the CR1 visa with the copy your minster gives you that day of your marriage. Photocopy it and send it in. That saved us a good 3 months on waiting for the marriage licenses.

I used Global Express. You have to ask at the counter for the special envelopes. I have never had a problem in the past 9 years. Depends on the size how much it will cost. He usualy recieved the mail in 5 days.

Last time I was in Mobay I paid $4000J a day. The person who handles my companies employee transportation in Mobay arranged it for me. We aren't operating right now, and won't be again until probably August, but I could call him and arrange something for you.
I know we talked about this before but what is the cheapest place to rent a car in MoBay? Dwain needs to move his belongings to his mothers house. He has many items he will not be bring up to the states. He told me the cheapest he could find is 150 dollars a day and he has to rent the car for at least 2 days. Is there any better options out there?

Thanks

Jax

Thanks Eric for the help but I think we will be okay. He got the price down to 200 dollars for 2 days. That is a lot better.
