So I've schedule an infopass appointment (based on the recommendation from the USCIS customer service line) to determine why it is taking so long for NVC to receive my approval. Someone let me know..if I'm being a little too anxious. It's been over two weeks and based on others timelines the NVC received their case within 2-5 days. I'm really hoping they send it soon as I would like to at least get a late July/ early August interview date. :huh::unsure::whistle:

According to NVC it can up to 4-6 wks to recv the case from USCIS, but you can always go and see what they say.

10/30/06 - Married to my loving husband

01/06/07 - NOA1 ($190)

05/16/07 - NOA2!!!!!

NVC: CR-1 Process

05/21/07 - NVC recv'd case (per rep @ NVC)

05/29/07 - NVC Assigned Case # (KNG2007******)

06/01/07 - Faxed change of address request to NVC

06/08/07 - NVC confirmed new address

06/18/07 - DS-3032 (Choice of Agent) & AOS (I-864) Fee Bill generated

06/23/07 - Recv'd DS-3032 & AOS Bill via snail mail

07/09/07 - Emailed DS-3032 (Choice of Agent) to NVC

07/19/07 - Mailed AOS Fee Bill ($70) to St. Louis, MO

07/19/07 - Recv'd email from NVC - Choice of Agent was accepted

07/23/07 - IV (DS-230) Fee Bill was generated

08/11/07 - Recv'd IV Fee Bill via snail mail

08/15/07 - Recv'd AOS Packet in the mail

what would be a good gift for my friends new born baby? It's a little boy. I just have no idea what would be useful. I know that there are a couple of expecting mothering on the thread and I would like to know what they would like.

For those living in the Chicagoland area there is a Reggae Boat Party on Sat June 17th on the Odessey at Navy Pier. It's has 3 levels (Reggae, soca/calyso (sp), and hip/hop) and tickets are on sale at various carribean stores in Chicago. Many artists and DJ will be playing that night. I went to a couple of them and always had a nice time.

Yes, I couldn't make it. The baby was born on Monday. I have no idea what she already has.

You could try calling her and asking her what she needs - useful gifts are diapers, gift certificate to a nearbye baby store, waterproof crib pads - not a mattress pad (I would use these when I laid my son on my bed just in case his diaper leaked and my friends loved it when I showed up to their house and used it if he fell asleep)

I agree with the idea of you calling her and seeing what else she needs....although, you can never go wrong with the stuff you know she'll always need...diapers, wipes, health kit, etc...

FOR MY SHOWER A FRIEND GAVE THE THE BEST GIFT.. A HUGE WEEKENDER DIAPER BAD STUFFED WITH ONESIES, DIAPERS, SOOTHIE PACIFIER, WIPES, TRASH BAGS FOR DIAPERS, SOCKS, BLANKETS..IT WAS FABULOUS..I KEPT MOST OF THE STUFF IN THE CAR FOR THE TIMES WHEN IT CAME IN HANDY WITH ME FORGETTING TO PACK A BAG :)

BUT YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH DIAPERS, ONESIES, WIPES, BLANKETS, SOCKS.....I WAS A LITTLE FORTUNATE I HAD DIAPERS THAT LASTED TIL MY DAUGHTER WAS ABOUT 4 MTHS
