Congrats Ebony! That sounded so easy

Congrats Shauna! You should be good to go now

Well back in April I applied for a job with the county sheriffs office as a records specialist. I went in for civil service testing yesterday (which was pretty hard honestly) but I passed everything with great scores. Now I have to wait to see if I am selected for oral boards (scored interview by a panel including the chief examiner) if I pass that I have to go through background checks and polygraph testing. Then they combine your scores from everything and make a list of the top however many and choose from that. Trust me it is quite the process and they say it will be another 4-6 weeks til they choose someone and it has already been almost 2 months! Crazy!

Anyways I am excited to have passed...hopefully I can pass the rest. Working for the county would pay almost 40% more plus all the great state benefits. Plus once you are in you are in

Good luck Jamie

  Wow, good news all around lately!! Congrats to everyone!!

I found out lately that my fiance has lied to me on more than one occasion, once about a very important issue. I think I'm close to approval or at least an RFE because my file was touched for the first time in over 4 weeks.

Sorry to hear that Wayne. I had an issue w/ my hubby lying to me on a couple occasions - one of the times it was a HUGE thing that he lied about. I ended up forgiving him, but it does make it very hard to trust him sometimes. (We were already married when I found out the big lie) Whatever you do, do not worry about what everyone else thinks. This is YOUR life, your future, and your love - you have to do what makes YOU happy  You still have time to think about it - even after your approval, it still has to go to NVC, then the embassy, then wait for an interview date. Hang in there.

My husband can care less about clothes. I try matching up stuff for him all he says is as long as their clean, he don't care. I'm hoping when he comes here he will care a little bit about fashion.

Are you sure he's Jamaican??? :o:lol:;)

Anyways I am excited to have passed...hopefully I can pass the rest. Working for the county would pay almost 40% more plus all the great state benefits. Plus once you are in you are in

It sounds great! Good luck

I had to LOL at the "Are you sure he's Jamaican???" comment. I was thinking the exact same thing.

I laughed at it too,

trust me I soo hope his attitude changes a little bit, he isn't interested in brand name, because he has better uses for his money according to him, which is good, he doesn't even try to match, its always a pair of jeans with a shirt

NYSNESS (sp) - I am too Happy for you! I wish u could have seen the big smile on my face when I read about your approval

So I've schedule an infopass appointment (based on the recommendation from the USCIS customer service line) to determine why it is taking so long for NVC to receive my approval. Someone let me know..if I'm being a little too anxious. It's been over two weeks and based on others timelines the NVC received their case within 2-5 days. I'm really hoping they send it soon as I would like to at least get a late July/ early August interview date.:unsure::whistle:
