Ah ok I see. Do the W2 and tax return need to be ordered new from IRS?

I believe you can use copies of your original form. I saw that a lot of people used tax transcripts, and so I decided to get that instead of using the original return. The tax transcripts are free. If you ordered a copy of your tax return you'd have to pay $57.

Hi Mayeli,

I checked "Do not intend" and then for Part 7 (Additional Information), I wrote "N/A K-1 Visa" for that question. I'd read somewhere that others had done this. I've also read that people have checked either box for the K1-Visa without a problem. For me, filling out the "Additional Information" just gave me more peace of mind.

Thanks @K1Cuba.

Hi everyone,

This was a topic a few weeks back when the administration announced changes to the Cuba travel policy, but I am wondering if anyone on here has flown to Cuba since, under what category, and if they had any issues getting there or coming back. My interview is coming up and I am flying under the family category so any comments would be very helpful. thank you! :)

Hello TatiyPablo,

I have not traveled back to Cuba, but I have been reading a lot about this topic. It all states that nothing will change until the new laws are made official.

Yes, it would be great to have some insight as I am also traveling under the fam category. I am so nervous because I am not leaving until the 19th of next month. I don't think any changes will have made affect by then, but it still makes me anxious.

@TatiyPablo,

I think you should be fine under the fam category.  Just always make sure to have an address where you are staying.  I like using a casa particular, because it is approved by the government.

Hi @Dayr123,

Welcome! I was very clueless about the entire process. After your NOA2 you need to get your HAV # from the NVC, you can either wait for the letter in the mail or call within 2 weeks of your NOA2 approval. After you have that number you and your fiance needs to fill out the DS-160 and pay the fee. here is the website https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/.

Once all of that is done, you can schedule your interview appointment online at https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/?language=English&country=Cuba.

Hello @Dayr123

You can do the Ds 160 for your fiance and write in all his information. Once you are done, he can review everything and electronically sign it. That way his time online is less $. You can download every page of the Ds-160 before submitting it and send it on a pdf file for your fiance to review and later he can just connect to the internet to electronically sign it. But at the end, the most important thing is that your fiance is aware of what questions that are asked in the Ds-160 and that he corroborates that all the info is correct. If he cannot connect to the internet, you can electronically sign the ds-160 on his behalf. The Ds-160 confirmation page will be very important to bring to the interview.

And then you pay the ds-160 fee and immediately can schedule an appointment on that same website. The embassy is not going to make the appointment for you :)
