Hi @058rocale, I meant to ask you this ages ago, but what do you mean that our folder has to fit into a one inch slot? I have 4 folders as of now, hahaha.

:)

Hello! I just mean that one at a time, your folders need to fit in their window slots :)

Same happened with my fiance! They didn't put his exam in an envelope, and just said the people at the embassy will know what to do. Did you have any issue with this?

Thanks! x

I did not have any issues with this. I think that the Medical Exam guide should be edited to say that the results will not be in an envelope. I realize that the embassy doesn't let you go in with any envelope that is not transparent. Not even a small letter envelope I took where I put my fiance's 2*2 picture. And it's not like security opens the envelope just to see what is in it and let you go in with it. Security throws your envelope away if it's not transparent.

Hi guys, another question in regards to the i-134 affidavit of support.

for question 26.a. "I have submitted a visa petition on behalf of..." does this mean prior to the current petition for our fiance, or should we write our fiances information?

Thanks! :)

Hi @TatiyPablo Not sure if you've already found an answer. I've been doing some digging as I try to complete my affidavit. From what I can tell, you should but your fiance's information in that section, and the day you mailed your petition as the filing date. Below, I've left some links to the examples that I found online. They are mostly from old forms, but they have essentially the same questions. On the old forms below, Question 10 is the equivalent of our Question 26.a. Hope this helps.

Hi @TatiyPablo,

Yes, it is for this petition that they are talking about.  You submitted prior to the affidavit when you submitted your i-129.  That is why it says, "I have submitted...".  It's all for the same visa.

@TatiyPablo,

I think it helps to have cover letters to explain the content of the evidence.  I wrote mine in English.  Though our interview was done in Spanish.

For those who has their interview, how many of the clear folders can you bring, does it all have to be in one? Right now I have 4.

Also did you submit copies of NOA1, NOA2, and NVC letter or originals? And for petitioners did you submit your original birth certificate or copy? Thanks!

@TatiyPablo,

It's fine if you have four.  I had the following:

1. Packet 1 with all his papers, including *copies* of the NOA1, NOA2, NVC and all his original, stamped documents, including his actual passport in the folder

2. Packet 2 was all my affidavit of support papers, evidence, letters, etc.  Everything original where possible.

We ended up merging packet 1 and packet 2 when we were in line outside the embassy because they found it more convenient for them,  but I wanted them separate in my mind while I was traveling and when I was preparing for the interview the day before.

3. Packet 3 was my continuing evidence.  This was the fattest folder.  I probably spent the most time on this, writing cover letters and writing captions to photos.  Keep this in a separate folder, because they don't want to see this at first.  They want to verify all his info first (Packet 1) before looking at all the other evidence.  If you don't have everything in order for packet 1, there is no point in looking at packet 3, so keep packet 3 with you until they ask for it at the teller windows (where he first gets fingerprinted).

Each clear folder/packet needs to fit under the teller window, like at the bank, so it has to bend down and up through the slot in order to be passed back an forth.  What my person did was take the continuing evidence and returned anything that I didn't need for the interview.  So she was doing me a favor taking stuff out.  She did take out the the NOA1 and NOA2 and NVC papers that I put in Packet 1.  She said we didn't need them.  But I would take them with you in case they ask.  I did not submit my birth certificate.

Hello everyone!  A quick question on the I-134 for those that have gone through the interview:  how did you answer Question #38 on the form ("I intend/do not intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person(s) named in Part 2)?  It seems like a trick question for a K-1 visa applicant.

Thanks as always!

Hi Mayeli,

I checked "Do not intend" and then for Part 7 (Additional Information), I wrote "N/A K-1 Visa" for that question. I'd read somewhere that others had done this. I've also read that people have checked either box for the K1-Visa without a problem. For me, filling out the "Additional Information" just gave me more peace of mind.

Hi everyone,

I've responded to a few posts on here, but this is actually my first post. So hello! Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread. It has helped me (and I'm sure others) immensely.

I fly out in a few days for our interview next week, and I wanted to give everyone a heads up about ordering your IRS transcripts sooner rather than later. I thought that getting an online transcript would be simple and easy, but that was not the case. After being locked out of the system several days in a row, I ordered my transcripts via phone ( a MUCH shorter process than online). However, because I would not have received the transcripts before my flight, I called the IRS and asked if I could get my transcripts from the local IRS tax office. I was given a telephone number (844-545-5640) used specifically to make appointments at local offices, and I was able to get one before my flight. So just know that getting your transcripts from a local tax office is a possibility if you should run into last minute problems like I did. Your transcripts can also be faxed to you, but I was told by the agent that when receiving a faxed transcript you must be present at the fax machine as they send it, and the questions they ask to verify your identity will be a lot more detailed.

What do you mean by IRS transcript? Did you submit both W2 and tax return? Do you they need to be ordered from IRS?

I'm self-employed, so I needed to send my tax return or tax transcript (which is a summary of sorts of your tax return). From what I understand, you don't need to submit every type of evidence they suggest on the I-134 (although you could).
