Question about medical

My fiance called and made his official doctor's appointment in Sydney he wants to know if it is alright now to send off for an appointment without the results of the medical yet? I have already sent him the documents I need to send to him. It is just basically the medical and gathering supporting documents.

If you go to Embassy info, it states, for Austrailia

Approx Waiting Time for interview date from when the Consulate receives the package from the NVC: about 1 month This will depend on how long it takes you to accumulate required documents and return "Applicant's Statement of Readiness To Be Interviewed". Usually advertised is 2-4 months (approximately 1 month between readiness form sent in and scheduled interview date)

If you KNOW you can have the medical done within the next week or so, I'd send the papers in.

You might want to try the Australian forum, they could give you ALOT better advice and timelines

I did ask them no one has replied. This part is way more nerve racking than the waiting I believe. Don't want any mess ups now.

Usually the medical exam is tied to an embassy case number. You will likely need to wait for that number before scheduling the medical exam.

I have some questions about this - how soon can the medical be scheduled? And when do we receive the case # or is it the same # as given by NVC? Just wondering if I can look into scheduling my medical yet, or if I have to wait for Packet 3 to arrive.

If i'm not mistaking I think you need to wait for packet 3, the embassy/consulate will provide you with a list of doctors to choose from for the medical.

If i'm not mistaking I think you need to wait for packet 3, the embassy/consulate will provide you with a list of doctors to choose from for the medical.

Thanks! That's what I thought but I just wanted to see if I might be able to get it over with sooner. =) Hopefully I'll get my packet 3 soon!
