NBI taking too long! Any way to expedite?

My fiancee went in for her NBI clearance for our interview on  the 15th. But they said it wouldn't be ready until the 17th! When she went back to  ask for it to be expedited, they told her to come back tomorrow to ask.

I'm pretty sure we need it for the interview, but is there some way to expedite the NBI? 

We'll find out tomorrow I guess, but we're freaking out. I already have plane tickets to be there on the 15th, but leaving on the 17th. And tickets are so expensive! Any advice please?

No real way to expedite.... I assume you mean she went in on January 15th and said they won't have it until February 17th??

 

My partner got his clearance within 1 week... are your dates correct? You definately do need it for your interview.

 

 

08/15/2014 : Met Online

06/30/2016 : I-129F Packet Sent

11/08/2016 : Interview - APPROVED!

11/23/2016 : POE - Dallas, Texas

From sending of I-129F petiton to POE - 146 days.

 

02/03/2017 - Married 

02/24/2017 - AOS packet sent

06/01/2017 - EAD/AP Combo Card Received in mail

12/06/2017 - I-485 Approved

12/14/2017 - Green Card Received in mail - No Interview

The interview is scheduled for the 15th. They said they would have it ready on the 17th. Both in February. If we can't have it by the interview day, do  we go ahead with the interview and then send it in later? Or will they not let us interview at all?

Where does  your fiancee live,if i may ask?.i went to my local NBI office and got it same day.they took my fingerprints and after  a few minutes they printed the clearance

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Im sorry that happened,but it shouldnt take that long,even if someone has a namesake in their system,it only takes a few days to get the result

.I think you can go ahead with your interview, show the receipt and tell the interviewer why you dont have the NBI clearance,but hopefully you get the clearance soon.good luck

DanniColes, where did you got your NBI Clearance? 

 

I had mine too after a week and everyone I know got theirs after a week. This begun after NBI automated their process and online appointment system. It's supposed to speed up the process but somehow it delays it.lol.

Yes the NBI for TRAVEL ABROAD/US VISA (just so it is the green colored version) is required.

If you don't have it for the interview you will be given a 221g letter/email, take that to NBI when you go to pick up your NBI, they will deliver it to the embassy.  

 

 

Slight delay for not having all the necessary  documents but nothing to get excited about.

 

Visa chase and citizenship.. DONE!

Thank you for calming us down! She went back today and was told it could be expedited for 800php. ?

But then she got it same day! Legit or not, it's a small price to pay.
