How many of you are planning on attending your fiances interview?  Why do feel it is important?

I wish I could - but because of work schedule in August and September I will not be able to.  I am planning on a trip there in July, so unless some miracle happens (still waiting on NOA2) I will be there before his interview.  I think some prefer to as is shows more legitimate relationship.

I heard pros and cons, mostly pro about attending. That said, I think so many attend solo and get approved, the statistics probably would indicate not much of an impact in attending. I personally would like to, just to be able to help her manage the children. I only have a limited number of days I can take off, so I plan to go there as soon as she is approved after the interview.  That may change, but currently there are a number of variables that could impact the duration of time from the interview date and VOH.

Will she get her Singapore CoC in time?

How long will it actually take to get the visa? I hear it can be only a few days, then I've heard it taking a couple of weeks.

I worry about getting there, then being delayed over a week. I would have to return home, then fly out again.

I plan on attending....my fiance is in Algeria  (which from what I have read has a higher level of scrutiny).

I have the same concerns about having to come home and then go back to get them.  Our son is 2 and I can imagine traveling with him alone for that long flight.  @ChisolmTrail it sounds like you have more than one.  What are the ages?

I definitely plan to escort her and the children to the US. Three flights and 23 hours, no way I would have her do that alone.

Hi all. Feb 14 filer here. Yesterday (May 22) our case was touched, but they didn’t approve us. Instead, a request for additional evidence was mailed. This was updated on the USCIS website in the “Check your case status”, but it was not updated on the app. The app still just says case was received.

Once I get the letter that list what they need, I will mail the evidence requested back asap. I honestly have no idea what they could possibly need, we were so sure we submitted everything.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes them to look at the evidence I will mail back in before they make a decision? Is it usually somewhat quick, or will my application go back in the bin and take months again before they look at it? I can’t imagine having to wait so long again before we hear anything.

The app finally updated. It now shows that "Request for Additional Evidence" was mailed out.
Also to clarify, I am a feb. filer, but our application was received on Feb 14, with notice date of Feb. 16.

Hopefully it doesn't take to long for them to approve once I send back in whatever they are needing. I attend medical school year round, and my only decent break is at the end of july into august. I hope he can be here during that break, so we can get married and actually enjoy being together before I have to get back into study mode.

Good luck to you! Hopefully it is just something easy and you can get it sent back asap! My receive date is the 14th as well, I'm so excited people are starting to hear back!

Nice to see another Indian beneficiary! Our file NOA1 date is 6-Feb and we're still waiting for NOA2. Where in India does your fiance live? Which embassy will he interview at?

My fiance is in Delhi, originally from Kerala.

He is currently living in Pune, so I'm assuming probably the Mumbai embassy for the interview? Not entirely sure. He just moved a few months ago from Kerala (Kochi), but he is originally from Chennai :)

I see it says your from St. Louis? I just moved from there last August! I lived in STL to attend undergrad at SLU and worked at Mercy Hospital, but moved to Florida to attend med school.
