I guess we won't find out until we get our mail... which for me will be when i get off of work. I had a really hard weekend because i missed him so much - i could use the good news right now...

Waiting for someone's good news so I can be hopeful about the cases moving forward. I had a terrible weekend too. I was so frustrated and I was missing him too much that I actually got really mad him. Lol USCIS is the one to blame for all my anxiety. :D but in all seriousness, I hope we hear some good news by the end of this week. I'm literally on VJ most of the time now. This community is very helpful and comforting.

Hi Mona and Silvia Marie,

I'm from Cologne and will move to California near San Diego. I will not miss the weather here ;-)

Where are you from in Germany, Mona?

And where will you two be home after all that?

I'm excited and tired of waiting at the same time. But the more days we're waiting the closer we are to the approvement.

Oh, 8 hours! How nice! Try 24 hours! lol

We are so excited! I have a wedding dress, shoes, priest, church, hall, and a few other wedding day things. I just ordered my veil from Etsy the other day! It is definitely making it more real, to say the least. My goal is to be ready to have a wedding within 2 months time.

I'm glad to see someone else hasn't been with their S.O. for that long! I met my fiance in September and had my first trip to India in November '16. Part of our reason for not prolonging our dating is marriage takes place quickly in Indian culture. Already his family is asking us why we aren't married already! By the time we get married we will have been together for a year, which is unheard of in his family. A year is a nice compromise between Indian and American cultures ;) When he arrives on the K1, it will be his first time to the US... and his first time out of the country! He has a Bachelors and Masters in English, so he is very proficient in English and somewhat familiar with American culture. But being familiar with culture is very different than living it every day.

Omg seriously...only few understand the pure exhaustion of travelling somewhere as far as India! I think my last trip was total of 38 hours with layovers! When was the last time you saw your fiance? I last saw mine in the beginning of February, but won't see him again until his interview which won't be until probably September-ish since I'm a March filer. I'm planning on flying out there to spend hopefully 2-3 weeks there and attend the interview with him.

Hope you get your NOA2 soon!!! :)

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered "Man.... Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

Has anyone gone to the philippines with a one way ticket?

I want to go for my fiances interview and bring them back with me once they get their visas.  Since we dont know when that will be i was thinking of buying a one way there and one way ticket to return.

Will this cause problems entering the philippines?

My fiance is in the PI as well and I have looked into this. Yes the PI typically wants to see your itinerary to know that you have plans to leave the country after 29 days. But, as I have learned this issue is more about cost rather than exit requirements.  A round trip ticket to the PI is actually less expensive (even with change fee) than a one-way ticket. Thus, you could buy a round trip ticket, pick a proposed return date, then modify your departure if needed. You will incur a change fee, but overall less than two one-way one-tickets.

Example: Delta one-way from Portland to Manila ~$2900. Round trip is ~$1600. (late July)

Oddly enough, the one-way tickets for my finance (and kids, my situation) is ~$1800 each.  It appears the one-way from US to PI is the higher cost than the reciprocal.

There are other airlines, Eva Air, Philippines Air, etc, they all have their pros/cons, so you need to do the research.

My plan will be to purchase the tickets once I know they have cleared medical thus; I am assured my estimated departure will be within 5 to 10 days once she has passed the interview at USEM.

I plan to purchase a round trip ticket for myself and 3 one-way tickets for her and the children. if the departure date changes a bit, then I only pay for change fees, which in my estimate is far less than the difference in cost for two one-way tickets for me.

You would be better off flying into San Francisco or LA and purchasing a flight to Portland.  The most I have ever paid has been $1500, and then I had more money than time so I didnt mind paying the extra.  The least I have paid is under $600.  A one way from LAX to Portland is under $150.

I am coming from Dallas. I travel a lot via Southwest Airlines and have a lot of points to use. Therefore, I plan to use my points on SWA to fly from Dallas to Portland for free. Then fly from Portland to Manila on Delta.  On the return, I will do the same, except i will use my SWA points to fly all of us from Portland to Dallas.  I've looked at doing the same for LA and SF, but nothing changes. Cost is still more for one-way versus round trip from US to PI.

I guess that is one advantage to living between SFO and LAX.  I can usually get a good flight at a good price.

Traveled to the Philippines twice to visit my fiance. Philippine Imigration only asks how long is your visit, personal or business, what parts of the Philippines will you be traveling and your expected return date. They don't ask to see your return ticket however they do tell you that you have to leave the country in 30 days.

That has always been my experience too.  I have been 6 times and never had a problem, but never with a one way ticket.  I may just buy a ticket to Singapore or Hong Kong, for less that $100 as insurance.

When are you going again Martin?

HEY!!!!!

After depressing and waiting for noa2, I finally get the letter!!! I feel like I took out the heavy weight out from my shoulder, i feel so so relief :)

I want to thanks all of you guys in this forum that keep us posted about it.

I worried about my Noa2 yesterday and my boyfriend called USCIS about our case, the only thing they told us was they're still working on the case on November last year and they told us that if we wait till 31 July and we still don't get any update, they will expedite the case.

So after the called to USCIS, I went so down and depressed because of the answer on the phone.

But then today I got an updated from one girl who filed her application in the same time as me that they got the letter and I should get it soon.

So, I told my boyfriend to go and checkout and then YES!!!!!! I've got the letter of NOA2 via snail mail, my boyfriend just checked and the letter is there!!!!!!!

PS. the status doesn't update in the USCIS site/app.

Here is my timeline from noa1 - noa2

      Noa1 is 3 Feb

Noa2, notice date is 5 May
