Oh, 8 hours! How nice! Try 24 hours! lol

We are so excited! I have a wedding dress, shoes, priest, church, hall, and a few other wedding day things. I just ordered my veil from Etsy the other day! It is definitely making it more real, to say the least. My goal is to be ready to have a wedding within 2 months time.

I'm glad to see someone else hasn't been with their S.O. for that long! I met my fiance in September and had my first trip to India in November '16. Part of our reason for not prolonging our dating is marriage takes place quickly in Indian culture. Already his family is asking us why we aren't married already! By the time we get married we will have been together for a year, which is unheard of in his family. A year is a nice compromise between Indian and American cultures ;) When he arrives on the K1, it will be his first time to the US... and his first time out of the country! He has a Bachelors and Masters in English, so he is very proficient in English and somewhat familiar with American culture. But being familiar with culture is very different than living it every day.

24 hours 😳😳😳.  Are you waiting to set a date until he is in the country? At least he is familiar with the culture and good at English so he should have no problem fitting in and finding work once it is time. And you will always have an exciting place to vacation too when he wants to visit home.

It makes me slightly nervous that we haven't been together that long (in the eyes of USCIS). We met through mutual friends in August at a music festival in Canada where we all camped as a big group and after going home he wrote me a message on Facebook saying it was nice to meet me and 3 weeks later we were dating and talking about getting married lol.  We were ready to file in October after we went on our first trip together, but my divorce only went through in January so I feel like Ive already been waiting forever!! In a way that was good since we got more visits in.....I'm also nervous it looks bad I JUST got divorced and will probably face more scrutiny.  I included a note with the certificate though explaining in Canada you have to wait a year before even filing for divorce so that my separation occurred in July 2015 and the process just takes a long time here. I hope that will be sufficient!!!

My fiance's brother married someone he met on a cruise after only 8 weeks this year, so this pace looks slow compared to that haha. I guess you are feeling the same with the "slow" pace.  I am glad you have the support of his family!!

What is your recieved date?? The approval system is messing up but based on RFEs we can kind of get an idea on what dates are being worked on.

Yes, the trip is exhausting, even if it's worth it. We are waiting until he has his visa in his hand to set a date. Once he has the visa, he can give his notice at work, book his flight, and we'll set a date for about 2 weeks after he arrives. He has 4 degrees and was working on his PhD when we met so I have no doubt that he'll fit in and find a job.

And I agree about USCIS. But my hope is that culturally, it is to be expected in India.  ;) Anyway, I think it's awesome that you found someone so quickly!

His family is wonderful. I was able to meet all 6 of his siblings and gain everyone's approval :D What about your and his family?

Congrats to everyone who recently received their NOA2!! I am anxiety waiting for the mail carrier today! With the app/website not being accurate, I feel as though we are back to 1990! hahaha:whistle:

Oh that's nice! I hope we get our NOA2 soon!

One question though, isn't the received date the same as NOA1? Or? I have no clue with this visa thing, I'm trying to find things out on this forum..

I was very excited yesterday when I checked my case status online and discovered that the case logged right after mine received an RFE. I was hoping to get an approval yesterday...Still hopeful to receive one soon. My NOA1 was Feb 1.

This may be linked somewhere, and I just haven't read far enough, but how do you check that? Please pass the link :)

I have a question, which i havent seen or asked and very little info about it on VJ. On the original I-129F application, Part 3 Questions 2 b. Did anyone on here had to mark Yes? The question asks if you even been convicted of a serious crime.
