Hello everyone just an update on my case. Fiancée had her interview in Taipei today. She told me it lasted 20 minutes. She was given g221 paper for administrative processing and all she has to do is turn in medical exam results. She was not told as to whether she was approved or denied. She will get medical exam results on Sept 29. Does anyone know how long administrative processing takes? Thanks for any replies.

Hello Everyone, quick update! We received a letter from the Mexican consulate on Monday Sept 18 and filed for Ds160 on Tuesday Sept 19. And immediately it said that there were no available interview appointments. The next day, I checked again and there was an available date on November 1! I took it!!! So I made the biometrics and medical appointment on the 31st of October. Now, we just have to gather all the documents and be ready for the Interview in Ciudad Juarez! (Also we need to book flights and get a hotel!) we are beyond excited and nervous!!

Does medical take just one day there?  It generally takes two days in the Philippines but it may be due to the number of visas.  I would check on that just to make sure that the medical can be completed before your interview.

Congrats to all of you who are sharing your amazing success stories. Very exciting times for you all.

Question: For those of you who have had successful POE, have you applied for a SSN number yet? If so, how long did you wait to do so?

Was the process straight forward?

Appreciate any advice.

You can apply for the SSN right away.  You should apply for the AOS and EAD ASAP.  I believe the EAD (Employment Authorization Document) may take a couple months but that is the quickest way to legally work in the US while you wait for the AOS/GC.

We got married on 23rd September too :D. Ours was very low key at a court house in Orange County with just me, my fiancee and her daughter as our witness. We are doing the full big 'wedding' back in the UK with all our friends and families in June next year (although we're now legally already married).
