I concluded a  meeting today with my local Congressional area office.  I believe it went well. I was there when she placed the call to USCIS.  It  never occurred to me before but I suspect that USCIS depends  on the Congressional  area office mechanism to screen-out the Bozo's among us.  For folks like me who have a complicated Petition (unusual divorce issue and convictions), if you cannot schedule the meeting and make a prima facie showing of entitlement to the visa, you would never make it through the remainder of the visa process.   Anyone still waiting for NOA2, if you have not yet contacted your local congress-person, do it now. They have a set process with forms that need to be completed before meeting.  I wish I had done it earlier (and few other things too).

Nah if they were going to deny they likely would have by now.

Hang in there.

anyone filing AOS in september?

I am sending my AOS packet out on Monday! I am just waiting to get my passport photos taken this weekend and to have my husband's boss sign a new letter of employment for the I864 (he's on vacation so that's our main hold up).

You many know this already but the USCIS processing time has moved to March 1st now.

You need to call every single day until you get approved or answers. No joke. It's up to you though.

Your age difference should not be a factor at this point. The USCIS only needs to make sure you meet the requirements for K-1.

Age gap will come into play at embassy level but Manila has massive gaps getting approved.

Unless you are 45 plus years difference I would not even give that part a thought for the embassy stage.

Back to CSC it could be that a group of cases were selected for some kind of audit or training files  . that would suck in either case and you will probably never know exactly why the delay but

you should still be calling Tier 2 and your senator if not already.

You and @Lovemycroatianman need approvals by end of this month at the latest.

Your right it is...I did an inquiry with tier 2 last week...I'm suppose to have an answer by the 27th ...so mailed maybe 29 ....tier 2 is located in la...they arent in chula vista with the center...according to what theyve told me...all they can do us request an inquiry...so now I have two of them because I already did the inquiry online for past processing....plus I still have my kamala harris senator inquiry in my pocket and I will attempt to use that if I dont get a sufficient answer by the 30th.....In my own experience nothing much helps as I had senator Feinstein do a request and they refused and the ombudsman was involved 2 weeks ago...I'll give them their last week or so to see what they do....my response from the online inquiry is due by oct 10....I'm hoping they just approve it in the next week since its past processing ....

I was just looking over the data and noticed a substantial increase in denials.  Last year denial rate was 12% - 15.6%.  This years first quarter was 17.4% and jumped substantially in the second quarter to a whopping 28% denial rate.    Has me worried since we haven't heard anything at all after 224 days.  :(

I wouldn't worry about your denial.  My best guess at the jump in the denial rate is the increase in fees.  I obviously don't know how USCIS decides what shows up in the denial column but I think it's possible that the data might be skewed in denials if they were counting wrong fees sent in the denial numbers.  I remember when the scans used to work as I would scroll through the file I would see lots of wrong fee information and this could be a potential factor in that large of a jump.

Gary is coming the 8th, so we can properly say goodbye to my family, and we are flying back together the 20th. POE will be Dallas Fort Worth. Everyone says POE is not a big deal, but I'm glad to have some support there :)

Thank you very much, @RaptureSongbird
