So, you have two choices as I see; complain and feel that you are being singled out or relax and enjoy your life and check in on the case processing timeline at CEAC and when it is getting close it soon will be your turn. It's just the way it is. Look and follow their timeline and put some joy back in your life. Nothing is going to change as everyone in Feb Mar and April are running 150 to 180 days.

Saying everyone is running 150 to 180 is a bit far fetched however ...I see your point...everyone deals differently. I am only venting. Its hard to go on with your life when a big part is half a world apart amd u barely get time with one another....it is painful regardless of your mindstate. I keep myself busy and don't complain too much to others...but this is the one place where I expect empathy. So thank for your unsolited opinion..slap in my face...kicking me while I'm down....or reality check...captain obvious....comforting isn't your strong suit I guess huh.....that was unneeded...because I AM living the reality....and unless you have waited like I have and been apart from your loved one not knowing the outcome....I don't truly expect your empathy.

Im very sure I'll feel the same way.. Ive suffered from anxiety and panic attacks, Ive had several painful and debilitating experiences that have taught me what to worry about, and what to let go. Its very simple.. Is it something within my control? If so, I'll try to figure every thing I can do to make things work or speed up the process.  Is it outside my control? Why get all worked up over something I have no control over .. /contemplating over.

expect? When one usually expects things, and when it doesnt go their way, they are usually let down. If you expect things, especially from this site you are your own worst enemy.. You don't need the NVC number to fill in DS-160. It specifically asks for your WAC number.

But that's right. You can fill the form whenever you want, but don't submit it until the case is Ready at the Embassy

I don't think @Lovemycroatianman is wrong to expect empathy in this topic.  We have had a good group of filers in this topic which we've tried to make our space and a safe space to come and talk about all the ups and downs in this process.  There is absolutely nothing wrong in coming here and complaining about this process, sometimes we all need to blow off some steam about the frustrations in this ordeal with others who understand.  And, if it bothers others to read such responses, then they don't have to read them and they don't have to comment on them.

 

@Greenbaum is a great source of information but can also come across as blunt sometimes, at least from my perspective.  I don't know if that is their intention, their personality, their writing style, or just my perspective, but I've read some comments where I've felt that way.  I also don't think it's a fair comparison between waiting for the LPR 10 GC and still waiting for your K1.  For those of us who are still going through the K1 process, we are still waiting to be with our fiance/es while, if you are going through AOS or ROC, you are more than likely with your spouse, living with your spouse, regularly seeing your spouse, and not having to deal with the stress of missing your partner.  Greenbaum said "So I waited a few months longer as not having it was not interfering with anything we were doing" which was great for them but is not the case for those who are going through K1 and waiting to be with their partner.  Being together makes a difference and trying to plan your life and being together while going through K1 does interfere with everything.

 

I feel empathy for what @Lovemycroatianman is going through, if I was in her position, I would be feeling the same way and wanting others to talk to/vent to about my feelings.  She has done everything she can to try to figure out what is going on with her case and keeps getting responses of "we'll notify you in 30/45/60 days" from people who are essentially in charge of her future and her life with her partner.  Of course no future is ever guaranteed and many of our futures are controlled by others, even when we don't see it, but going through this process is a slap in the face of that reality.  I encourage her to share her feelings, frustrations, etc. to not only release those emotions a bit but to also help others realize that they are not alone and, for those who read these topics before ever starting this process like I did, to understand the realities of what might happen and what you might go through in order to be together with a K1.

I agree whole heartedly with you RaptureSongbird.  I just got a message from my Fiancé expressing how much this process is taking a toll. We have been apart from each other for nearly nine months.  It's hard and even harder waiting  for ANY response from USCIS now for 205 days.  The waiting and not knowing is beyond stressful.  Waiting to be with the one you love is even harder.  Peace to all.

The waiting is one of the hardest parts of this process.  I even had a moment last night where I looked at the empty seat on my couch where my fiance will be soon and just yearned for him to be there in that moment just to smile at and to see.  I realize that him and I were very lucky to have made it through this process relatively quickly and I feel bad for those, like you, who are now approaching/passed the 200 day mark with nothing.  I hope, in the future, that USCIS might be able to implement an online system closer to/better than the status checker on CEAC.  It would be great if their system wasn't just, when it's working, "Received/RFE/Approved/Denied".  If they could come up with a check list status that showed the most common steps and security checks that they run and we could see some type of status with those, I think that would help some of us.  I know that doesn't solve all the problems or help to explain the delays but sometimes just a little bit more information makes a big difference.

When should I complete the DS-160? My case is in transit to the consulate. Should I wait for them to receive it first?

 

 

I just read up and I guess I should wait until it is ready at the embassy and send the file to my fiancé to upload since she is the beneficiary.

What is the point of this community if I cannot expect empathy? We are all here to help each other and to empathize and at the very least....sympathize if we ourselves have not experienced the situation...and downplaying anyone elses feeling or situation is NEVER a humane way of acting...so good for you...you've gotten over everything in life....wonderful...great for you...you my dear don't know me...or my situation or even the full reason why I  am stressing....see being part of a community requires you think outside of oneself and consider what others are going thru and that yah...maybe they don't deal with things the way you do...

Or maybe they have so much stress in life anyways already..that they just don't have enough left to give to this kinda of stress....but coming off like your better and your just so elevated as a person...well...that doesn't taste good in anyones mouth...period.

Thank you..this whole thing sucks balls and we have a 20 yr gap...me being 40 him 20...I am soooo worried about that...from my research the older woman thing doesn't fly well cause of having kids issue ... that's why older men younger women is more accepted...plus....my stress is already elevated with having 6....yes 6 kids....3 are adults...when this started I had only 4 with me....1 more left then 2 came back and...its caused more stress for me and my fiance cause they r close to his age...plus I have 2 with adhd one of which has  autism and one with aspergers...this has been one of the most difficult things I've had to deal with especially because he doesnt know exactly if he wants to stay...because of the whole leaving his country and my kids....he doesnt know how he'll adapt...

Its an enormous weight on my shoulders and my life has basically stopped...it has left a very negative energy almost a feeling if angst inside of me...I am trying to learn to control it and keeping myself distracted taking classes online....but being an anxious over thinker...sometimes...that is impossible...and this IS my place to vent a bit and also show my empathy or give help when I can....

I appreciate you saying that. I understand your intention. Sometimes when we vent, actually most times...we aren't looking for someone to give us an answer...we just want to vent it out and be acknowledged and validated...thats all.
