That is so concerning.  Wonder why they were being denied.  Really hope it was for really good cause rather than simply personal bias opinions.  It would break our hearts to no extent if we were denied to be together because of someone's personal belief or opinion.

I think it has to do with lack of documents.

Has anyone heard of administrative processing? Please let me know... even though they told my fiance she was approved, they kept her passport and said it, along the sealed documents,  will be mailed to her.

She did not recieve anything else.

I pulled up visa tracker and it said it is on administrative processing. From what I read online, it can take months to years before being resolved.

I called USCIS and spoke to tier 2 again just a few minutes ago. They still don't have an update on my case, except for the service request email I got saying  " we're actively working on your case" blah blah "you can expect a decision within 45 days" ARE U KIDDING ME.

Tier 2 officer says that's all the information he can get, and he sympathizes because his wife is Japanese and they went through the exact same thing. Haha

KILL ME IM DYING FROM WAITING

oh my?! For real? And now they moved the processing time to Jan. 1st again. Waiting is so stressful!

Wow, just got an email today.  After all this waiting and nothing, now they have the nerve to give me an RFE just to prolong this agony even longer.  Didn't even say what is was.  So have to wait for snail mail to see what I need to do next.

Sorry to hear that.  I know you waited for too long. Just respond immediately on them. Unfortunately, I am waiting for NOA2 after submitting my RFE response last July 5th and they just update my status to received last July 31. I hope for them real soon coz it's an easy rfe.

It's normal procedure, I don't believe u have anything to worry about- yes some people go through AP for longer than others, unfortunately I seem to be one of them. (See signature)

i had had the same experience as ur fiancé and received a white paper stating I was approved etc. but I am still on AP, tmr will be 17 days :( and there is nothing u can do but wait..

A little (a lot) late to the game here. As we hired an attorney to help us with the visa process and they have completely dropped the ball. I've learned more reading all 355 page of this thread than I have from my attorney. We filed in February and have now taken over the process.

My fiancé is in the UK.

Interview scheduled for September 7th.

My first question is should we pay for the courier service at the interview? If so, what does that mean? i.e., it's hand delivered to him

How long does that process take?

(thank you all for sharing your journeys)

Why do you think you got AP? I thought everything was really smooth during your interview!

Hi! If you pay the courier fee they will deliver the passport with the visa to your fiancee's address. Alternatively, the courier company has pick-up points across the country, and you can choose to pick the passport and visa up from one of these, without charge. I went for the latter option, as I work in London and one of the pick up points was around the corner from my office, so I didn't have to pay. I had my interview on Wednesday 26th July, and picked up my visa exactly one week later on Wednesday 2nd August.

everything was great at the interview, no hiccups and i was told i was approved. i have no clue for the long wait. but we will see...ive grown tired because i was prepared for a week at most but now each day just seems longer.

this is what it states: case created 24th july and last updated 24th july

Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted.
