Hey questions guys...I was reading another post in the forum and they were saying on the affidavit of support you have to meet your own household requirements plus 1... but this is not what is said on the uscis website...it says the sponsers household number...which wouldnt include the fiance at that moment....is this everyones understanding ...?

You must meet 100% of the federal poverty level (from the I-864P) for your household size. The household size includes you, any of your dependents, the intending immigrant, the intending immigrant's derivatives, and anybody else for whom you have an existing affidavit of support. So if it's just a petitioner and beneficiary (no kids), and no past I-864s have been filed (since that's the legally binding one to go by), then the household size is 2.

I see some people are talking about the affidavit of support, I have another question regarding it. I am the petitioner and when I completed my I-129F packet I had just begun working full-time after graduating from college. Before my income was about 10k a year, so my fiance's sister filed a joint sponsor affidavit. Should I submit a new I-864? My income now is sufficient based on the 125% poverty guidelines. In the interview should I bring proof? My tax returns are based on me working part-time and do not reflect my current income status, I am nervous of how to go about this.

My 2015 income was about $23 k. My 2014 income was about $12 k. But my 2016 was about 400% higher than 2014 because I graduated from grad school and started a "real job."

The I-134 only requires last year's taxes (from what I gather from the updated instructions) so I'm sending only 2016 income taxes. Why are you submitting I-864? Why not the 134? The I-134 asks for letter from bank and letter from employer in addition to recent tax returns. I think that is a better option. You can probably include a statement in the I-134 (space provided on last page) to discuss your income increase since last tax return and the evidence from bank and employer will help.

Does anyone know if I'm wrong here? For I-129, does the I-134 or the I-864 need to be given to the consulate ?

are you referring to the one case thats marked updated on 27-Apr? I dunno why that's the case...there were a few of them in the list early on when i started the scan - they are marked like that as per the USCIS website, i suspect somebody entering the data just made a typo (but don't quote me on this).

That is actually the one I filled out for my packet. I don't know what the difference is either. Can anyone explain?

This is what I found online. https://www.us-immigration.com/blog/differences-between-affidavit-of-support-forms-i-864-and-i-134

i-134 is for K-1 and i-864 is for family-based visas and some other categories. I looked up the requirements for the Consulate in Ecuador and it requires the submission of the  i-134 because I'm petitioning for the K-1 Visa.

That exactly... plus also you don't need to send the Affidavit of Support (i-134) with your original i-129F package, but that's something the beneficiary has to provide at the Embassy stage of the process.
